First answer – get your superstars. You simply don't win without them, save for some incredible goaltending. But I don't want to bank on that.
4:43
Second – I'm not betting my life savings on it, but I'd certainly lean toward generational. Not only does his WHL production jump off the page when compared to some of his peers, he did it on a pretty mediocre Regina team. Numbers obviously don't tell the whole story, but he's the real deal.

Is Zadina a bust? Can he find some kinda game in SJ? What does that game look like in terms of production?
Josh Erickson
4:46
I do think he gets a more stable role, but I'm not sure if he ever elevates to the level of consistent top-six fixture.
4:47
I'd look for him to be a more solid third-line scoring presence in the 30-40 point range.
4:48
I'll get through 3 or 4 more here to wrap up before the top of the hour.

Can gustavsson repeat his performance for Minny this year and what are your thoughts Ottawa signing Korpisalo. Is he that good? Will be be a difference maker?
Josh Erickson
4:49
I don't think he needs to repeat for the team to be that good, but I do think he'll clearly stay a starting-caliber goalie. He's had the signs and I've liked him as a prospect. I don't think he's a long-term top-ten guy in the league, but certainly a solid starter.
Lucky for Minnesota, they do have a future top-ten guy waiting in the wings in Wallstedt.
4:50
The Korpisalo signing was ill-advised. Free agent signings given based on late-season heroics without much of a sample to back it up rarely go well.
4:51
Five of Korpisalo's eight NHL seasons have been well below average, and there's been no linear path for his good years – they're just at random. Unfortunately, I think it's this year's equivalent of the Campbell signing.
4:52
I don't think it's the end of the world for the team, Forsberg's good. But it's money they couldn't afford to waste and it's going to seriously impact their relationship with a solid prospect in Pinto if they're not careful.

Who of the non-rookies are you looking forward to seeing in a new role based on off season shake-ups? Anyone you think might break out?
Josh Erickson
4:53
Oooh, I love this question
4:56
Connor Brown in EDM is an obvious bounce-back candidate for me. In terms of true breakouts, though, give me an even better season from Vilardi in Winnipeg.

Interesting prospects Hutson Korchinski mintyukov? Who makes the biggest impact when they arrive?
Josh Erickson
4:56
I'd answer Korchinski, purely because he has the clearest path to top-pair minutes. He might even be the best LHD Chicago has in the organization as we speak.

Can you see the Oilers trading Campbell in the near future? Or is that more of a trade deadline thing? Orrrrr Will they just rock with him as a backup?
Josh Erickson
4:58
I'm sure the Oilers would love to, but a trade requires two teams. They have no choice but to eat it or buy him out, or give up serious assets to dump him on a team with cap space. The smartest move is to let him play as a backup and hope he regains value.

Alright, folks, that'll be it for this afternoon/evening. A lot of great questions today. We'll do this again next week!
