Hello and welcome to another chat!
Regular season hockey is just around the corner, there will be games before our next chat, so let's make it count!
I'll get started in a few minutes

What are the Sharks getting in Gadjovich?  I know he put up great numbers in a very weak AHL last season, but his skating style is awkward to say the least.  Will he stick in San Jose as a third liner?
Gavin Lee
5:56
I think the chances of him sticking as a third liner are pretty low, actually. There have been some reports from beat writers this camp that he really focused on his fitness and his skating has improved as a result, but I'm not confident enough in his defensive ability or offensive creativity to think he can handle that high
Now, a fourth line body that you could also use as a net-front on the PP? That I think he can handle.
This isn't a huge impact move, or the Canucks would have found a taker in trade
5:57
But he'll get some time in San Jose for sure.
Steve Calvert
5:58
What’s the chances of Bishop playing any this season in Dallas?
Gavin Lee
5:59
I think pretty good. He's not going to play in the preseason, and I'm not sure what his realistic timetable is
But I think he'll play eventually
6:00
I think he's probably still looking at LTIR to start the year, which means he'll have to miss 10 games/24 days
But that's not really even an issue
Steve Calvert
6:01
Ok, another one then, if Bishop does play, does Dallas trade off another goalie since the Habs now might need to top end goalie?
Gavin Lee
6:02
I am not really sure what kind of market they'd have, unless it's Oettinger they push out--which would be silly, as he can just sit in the minors.
I don't think Montreal is desperately looking for a new starter
They trust Allen, and Bergevin hinted that he expects Price to only miss the 30 days.

Thoughts on the Blues opening-night roster? Some interesting battles with Jake Neighbours, James Neal, Klim Kostin, and Scott Perunovich. Who stays, who goes?
Gavin Lee
6:03
You know what is interesting, I wrote maybe a week ago that I thought Neighbours had a chance to lead the WHL in scoring, and now he may not even go there at all.
He's been so impressive
6:04
I still have a feeling that Neal is going to be signed, when all is said and done.
Which means one spot is filled by him
6:05
Perunovich I still think will probably end up starting in the A, just to get some games under his belt. But he's been good too--we always knew he could be, just such a disappointing start to his pro career.
6:06
Kostin I'm not sure about. I thought he'd grab a spot, but I just haven't seen it yet.
Seattle Stu
6:06
Lots of the analytics guys have the Seattle Kraken in the mix for a Pacific Division playoff spot.... ahead of Calgary & Vancouver.  Your thoughts?
Gavin Lee
6:06
I've said it quite a few times on here, I believe they have one of the best defensive/goaltending groups in the league
That can win a lot of games
6:07
The question will just be, can they score that third goal every night
The thing about comparing to the Flames, is that Calgary wants to win 2-1 every night now.
And I'm not convinced they're better suited for that then the Kraken
6:08
Vancouver..I'm not sure what to think. I really don't like the defense, even with Hughes back
6:09
I think it will need a REALLY great season from Pettersson to make them anything more than a low-end bubble team
Jason
6:09
Do you think the Kraken will have the same success as the Golden Knights did year one?
Gavin Lee
6:09
Well no. I'm a believer that they're better than many think, but I certainly won't be penciling them into a Cup final
Josh Ho Sang
6:09
Have I improved myself and my attitude enough to play in the NHL this season ?
Gavin Lee
6:10
I can't speak to the attitude shift now, I haven't spoken to Ho-Sang in years. But I just still haven't seen anything to make me think the Maple Leafs need him in the NHL.
6:11
I know Twitter loves him, but standing still and passing a puck through traffic does not equal impact NHL talent
Yes he has skill, but there is a lot more to the game than that, and I just haven't seen enough away from the puck to think a playoff team will hand him 15 minutes a night
wreckage
6:12
Can the Oilers contend in the playoffs with that defensive group? Nurse - Barrie should be fine, but after that it's?
Gavin Lee
6:12
It's not good, is it
