Hello folks, and welcome to the final live chat before trade deadline month!
I'll let some stuff roll in and get started in just a few minutes.

Any chance the Hawks can move Keith or Seabrook?
Gavin Lee
6:11
I'd be extremely surprised at a Seabrook deal that isn't done in the offseason, if possible at all.
6:12
Keith on the other hand could be moved tomorrow if he wanted to be. It'll be up to him, but there would be interest.
Still, getting rid of a franchise icon for what would amount to a fairly small return doesn't seem that likely to me.

6:13
Will the Blues make any moves?
Gavin Lee
6:13
Almost definitely. They never seemed like a team who would blow things up early, but you can bet if they can't climb back up over the next few weeks there will be some bodies shipped out.

What or who do you think the Jets need to go deep in the playoffs? I think a guy like Ferland would add toughness or how about Stone instead of Duchene.
Gavin Lee
6:14
Ferland would fit fine there, but I don't think he'd really make them all that much better.
6:15
They need help down the middle again. Not sure that Duchene is the answer there though.
My thoughts on Stone are clear. He's elite, and would help any team in the league.
Would cost a ton.

Does Panarin find a home in southern Florida in the off season?
Gavin Lee
6:16
Definitely will be one of the options.
My money would still be on the Rangers or Blackhawks, but I don't think anything is decided there.

Will the Canes be able to lock up Michael Ferland or is his asking price (rumored to be 6 mil x 5 years) too rich for their blood? I've heard around Raleigh that he wants to stay here, but also wants a huge pay raise. Thanks.
Gavin Lee
6:16
There is a big gap in what Ferland wants and what the Hurricanes are willing to pay.
They definitely had interest, but it sounds like they'll trade him instead at this point.
6:17
I'm not sure those numbers are correct though.
If someone gives him $30MM they're crazy.
Andre
6:17
Do islanders make a big splash for Duchene, Stone, or Panarin?
Gavin Lee
6:18
Not sold that they'll make that splash this season.
Maybe in the summer, but they are just starting the journey with this group. Shouldn't be selling off a ton of young/future assets to help
A smaller move though? They'll be in on some of those.
Mike
6:18
What should the Jackets expect in return for Panarin and Bobrovsky?
Gavin Lee
6:19
Honestly I'm not sure what Bobrovsky would bring.
Without an extension, what team is going to part with a substantial package? It doesn't make a lot of sense to.
6:20
Panarin though, he could set the market and bring in a huge package. Aaron Portzline in the Athletic reported today that the Jackets might take a package of picks/prospects in flip
To flip* They want to win now.
6:21
I'm still not totally sold that they're going to move Panarin, but if they do it would be a deal bigger than Nash last season --Spooner, Beleskey, Lindgren, 1st
Connor
6:22
Do the Bruins make a substantial addition this year or are we looking at another year of standing pat? A historically good Tampa team makes the latter more reasonable this year, and they have to be scared based on their history with rentals (Nash, even if bad luck, and blowing a 2nd rounder on Stempniak months after a PTO with the team come to mind)
Gavin Lee
6:22
I've been saying all season that I'm not sure the Bruins have the appetite to go after the big, big fish this deadline. Now Friedman is saying a similar thing.
6:23
They'll check in on Panarin/Stone/Duchene etc, but I think the prices eventually get too high for them.
Bill
6:23
Do you see the Bruins trading Krug in order to acquire a top six scorer they definitely need. He is the chip that they could move as he will become a free agent after next year and will want a big raise.
Gavin Lee
6:24
Now this part is interesting, because Krug could land them a real player.
The talk around him has died down considerably, but he's a chip they could use.
Edm tanks again
6:24
Do you think Edmonton will make any moves???
Gavin Lee
6:24
Not huge ones, not until they get a GM in place.
6:25
You can't trade Ryan Nugent Hopkins or something a month before hiring a new GM.
