I said a few weeks ago, that it wouldn't really surprise me if the Avalanche caught fire again and dispatched someone in the first round
I think the Flames are a very good team, but that series is fascinating to me, especially if Cale Makar enters the mix.

New Jersey feels pretty comfortable with their goaltenders right now.

Heard on the radio Brian Burke say draft should be tiered, top 5 spots only in lottery with no repeat 1st pick and rest in secondary from 6-15 so only worst get rewarded not team that may fight till end of season for playoff spot and luck into 1st pick, what do you think about this idea for the draft

I don't love that exact scenario, but something like it might work.
I would never do the "no repeat" thing.

Dynasties, or whatever you can call what they are now, are actually good for the health of the game.

You don't want three teams to win it every year, but the idea of a team that competes yearly for a decade is good business.
I know that seems "unfair" but the NHL doesn't care about that.

by the way. I love the Carolina celebrations after wins at home, great rebranding and if it helps team business bottom line great. Guys life Don Cherry with "bunch of jerks" comment is wrong, he doesn't put a cent into that team but wants to tell them how to run it
