What's the timetable for Subban's return and do you see Nashville trading for another forward?
Gavin Lee
6:28
Subban is supposed to return next week, according to David Poile.
6:29
I could definitely see them adding someone else. Nashville is in on pretty much every single available player, if just checking in.
Frank
6:29
From this seasons rosters, which team will face the hardest decisions regarding protection for Seattle in 2021?
Gavin Lee
6:29
Boy there are some tough ones out there. Anaheim again will be in trouble with their defense group--remember you can only protect 3 unless you go the 8 skater route.
6:30
Toronto of course with their group of forwards
6:31
Winnipeg could have some really tough decisions if everyone is still there.
But the draft is so far away that teams will change so much.
Rob
6:32
What’s the latest update on Conor Timmins? Will we see him in the lineup at some point this year?
Gavin Lee
6:32
Timmins was on the ice again today, in a non-contact sweater
6:33
I do think he'll play, but that's such a delicate situation that you don't want to jinx him.
He was one of my favorite defense prospects in the draft, I hope it can all come together.
Kyle Dubas
6:34
Will I keep my word and not trade Nylander? Cap space is going to be needed after this year
Gavin Lee
6:34
I actually don't think the Maple Leafs are in that bad of a cap situation.
6:35
I know it's a talking point on Toronto media, but they're going to have something like $26MM+ Nathan Horton's LTIR room.
6:36
I don't think he'll trade Nylander for a long time.
Though I certainly wouldn't have given him my word like that.
buxton
6:37
With Nylander finally being Signed, what do you think are the odds we see Matthews be offered sheeted by Ari? Or do you see any of the upcoming BIG name RFAs being offer sheeted?
Gavin Lee
6:37
Basically zero percent chance I'd say.
Who wants to overpay a star while giving up four firsts?
6:38
Offer sheets aren't really a threat for the big players, I don't believe.
What they should be used for, is to try and snatch underutilized talents.
6:39
Here's an example for me.
6:40
When Robby Fabbri became an RFA last summer, why didn't someone go to him and say "What's the Blues best offer?" and then give him $500K more.
He signed for just $925K
Give him two years, $2.6MM and there is zero compensation.

6:41
Arizona would overpay a hometown franchise player because it would instantly increase the value of the franchise and potentially save it from being moved to Houston. Many of the major analysts have stated at least 1 offer sheet will be done this year, other than Rantannen, i don’t know how it wouldn’t be Matthews.
Gavin Lee
6:41
If anyone has definitively stated that an offer sheet will be signed, they shouldn't be listened to.
6:42
The idea that Matthews would save Arizona from moving to Houston is jumping to so many conclusions that it would be crazy to operate a team that way.
Orr
6:43
Backes for Lucic ?
Gavin Lee
6:44
Why would Boston want to pay a bad contract for two additional years?
McKenny
6:45
They seem to be giving him every opoortunity but will James Neal end up as Calgary's version of Milan Lucic?
Gavin Lee
6:45
That contract definitely doesn't look good, which is somewhat surprising to me.
I thought it would take at least a couple of years to see the fall off
Neal is one of the most consistent goal scorers of his generation
6:47
The biggest thing that separates them is that Neal's deal isn't front loaded or filled with bonuses. They could buy him out.
Erik
6:47
Patrick Kane for Backes, Bjork, Carlo, JFK, and two 1st’s. Who says no first?
Gavin Lee
6:47
Chicago, and I didn't even read the return.
6:48
I don't think Kane is going anywhere.
It’s me!
6:48
How long until Chicago and Los Angeles are playoff teams again?
