Hi Naman. You will know if you receive a decision because you will receive an email from Graduate Admissions, noting that you have a decision. At this time we don't have a specific date when we can tell you that you will receive a decision.

Rahul, if we have decisions to go you today, we will try and send them out before 12PM EST. But you will receive an email from Graduate Admissions stating when you have received a decision.

Hi, if one of my references does not submit their recommendation letter on time, will that disqualify my application?

Joey, we do require that all application materials be submitted by the deadline. After that, it would be up to the program as to whether or not they would still review your application, because it wouldn't be complete by the deadline.

Hi Ariel, it will be on Fridays after March 15. We do recognize the need for visa production - this is something we work with every year so it is taken into consideration.

Richard, you will not receive it today and most likely not until after the March 15 deadline.
But I cannot give you a guaranteed date as to when you will receive it.

Good morning Will & everyone here. I have only two questions, do you know how many ESE PhD applicants this year? Will the rate increase this year? Second, is Friday the day of releasing decisions for every week? If Yes, is it like 12:00 am or it vary. Thank you and I wish you a good day.

Hi Guest, we received 309 applications this year and it was an increase. So that Friday release date is for masters applications. PhD applications are released on a rolling basis, any day during the week. When we get a decision, we send it out. We do our best to send all PhD decisions out prior to the April 15 national deadline.

I'm a Mechanical Engineering undergrad. My interest is in Robot Dynamics and control. I'm confused to apply between MEAM( controls and mechatronics concentration) and M.S.E in robotics. Looking for some help.

Well, Rajkishore, at this point I'd say is your desire explicitly in working with robotics, or more broad? If it's more broad, you should apply to the Mechanical Engineering program. The other thing to do would be take a look at the course requirements of each program, because that will spell out for you the type of things you'd be learning and work/research you'd be doing. I am slightly confused reading the MS in Materials Science and Engineering program description site. There are 10 courses required, correct? With 3-4 courses per semester, should I anticipate doing that in 3 or 4 semesters, or would a summer term be available (and for how many courses?)

Hi Stanley. It is 10 courses. You can do 3 semesters or 4 - there are summer courses available, so it is possible to take one or two. It's usually advised that students take no more than 3 courses a semester, so if you did one in the summer, you could definitely do 3 semesters or a year-and-a-half.
