Hi Will, I am currently considering a combination of an MS in systems engineering and a Wharton MBA. According to the Website, the applications for each program is done separately. I am assuming that applies to the recommenders as well?

Hi Karim, yes that is correct.

Hi Guest. Unfortunately, we don't offer funding for masters programs at all. You can find some sources of funding here: http://www.cis.upenn.edu/prospective-students/graduate/aid.php

I have an IELTS score of 6.5, would that prevent my application from being reviewed?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
9:40
No, we don't have a requirement, but a recommendation. You can still apply and we do review all applications.

Hello sir
Please i will like to do my master in biomedical engineering in your university

Hello Sir,

Hi Anish.
Anish

In the supporting documents section of the application, there is a provision to upload our personal statement. However, the program requires a Statement of Purpose. Since the two documents are different, what am I supposed to actually upload?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
9:45
Anish, we ask for a personal statement. If it is labeled "Statement of Purpose," you can ignore that language.

I need help with my application. On the Agreement Statement section of the application, this statement is mentioned "Please only enter data in these fields if you have been given instructions to do so by the program's admissions or recruitment staff." which is followed by a "Office Verification Code" button.
I don't understand what is to be done here
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
9:47
This is for office use - you can ignore it.

I have a question. For the deadline tomorrow, I have mentioned the email id of my recommender but he says he will be unable to do so till next week. Will my application not be accepted?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
9:50
Guest, we do require all applications to be complete by the deadline. If it is not complete by the deadline, it will be up to the program as to whether or not they want to review it.

I am applying to the Masters in Integrated Product Design - do you have an idea whether they will accept it or not?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
9:54
All applicants can apply and if the application is complete by the deadline, it will be reviewed.
Anish

Thank you for answering my question Mr Will. So just to be clear, I need to upload just the personal statement right?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
9:56
Anish, that is correct.

I am applying to MS Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. However, I am interested to do my thesis under a professor from materials department. I would want to know if that's possible as my my graduate field of study is different from that of my thesis faculty. PS: I also asked this question to the department coordinator but she advised me to contact the admissions chair. The admissions chair didnt respond to the same. Could someone look into this?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
9:58
Hi Sai, I am sorry that you haven't heard back from the Department Chair yet. That is a question that would usually be decided on a per student basis. Unfortunately, it would be the Program Coordinator or Department Chair that would ultimately make that decision. I would suggest contacting the Chair again. However, I would not wait for an answer to apply, if you have not already done so. The question becomes moot if you aren't admitted.

Can internships be entered in employment
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:03
If the internship was through a class, then no, it should not be considered employment. If it was outside of that, it should be fine.
Srijan
10:04
it was with a company, but we got academic credit for doing them
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:05
Ok, that would not be considered employment on the application.
Ariella
10:05
How long after the deadline will references be accepted?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:06
Ariella, as we state on the website, all materials, including letters of reference, are required to be submitted by the application deadline. It is up to the dept if they want to review an application if it is not complete by the deadline. Most of the time, they do not, since it didn't meet the deadline.

Hello Sir, I plan to apply for MSE in Electrical engineering with focus in Robotics program (the subject of my interest). I have mentioned it in my Personal Statement. Is there any other procedure for the same?
