Saran, we use a holistic approach to the review, so reviewers really look at the entire application portfolio. It is important to look at the academics as you've gone on and see how you've done as you've moved into your major and harder classes.

hello, i am a transfer student from universityvin china to UT-Austin and I stayed in UT for 2 years. I achieved my bachelor degree from UT in DEC 2019. I would like to apply for MSE in data science. Can i waive my TOEFL?

I would like to know what role does the research advisor play.

I'm interested in working with a particular Professor isn't taking advisees for MSE Robo.

Can I opt for a particular research advisor and then work as an RA with another Professor?

Rishabh, that is possible, but it is really done on a case-by-case basis. However, if you are looking to do a PhD, then you would be in a specific PI's lab at least to start your program.

Moreover, does U Penn has a cut-off for the GRE score? I have a GRE of 328 but my score on the Quantitative part is only 166 (89 %). I heard that many schools are looking for a Quantitative score over 90% and I'm wondering whether U Penn employs a similar cut-off or not

Leo, we don't have a "cut-off," because we don't have a required score. We look at all of the application, not just one or two pieces.
