Hi there Will, I am applying to Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Fall-2020. I was wondering if there is any way of knowing whether admission office received my test scores?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir

Amanzhol, we can only check once you submit your application, as we are able to look up your application number in our test matching system. Unless you're discussing IELTS, in which case they are mailed and we could check our filing cabinet.

Thanks Will. One more question, if I use the same account, do my professors need to submit their letters again?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:51
Linghao, it really depends on the program to which you are applying. We don't recommend using the same letters again, especially if you're applying for two very different programs, say Bioengineering and Robotics. But if you would like to, then you should fill out all of their regular information on the 2nd application, but select "NO," for the question “Will this provider be submitting the letter of recommendation online?” Then email us at gradstudies@seas.upenn.edu and we will have the letters/forms from your first application uploaded to your second application.

Hi Will, I understand that UPenn's data science program started from 2017 and just had its first batch of graduates. Can I know the vision or future plan of Penn on this program, e.g. is this program going to expand?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:57
Hi HS. Sorry about that. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "expand." The school was just awarded $25 Million for a new Data Science focused building, so in that since, yes it is going to expand. But it will remain a very selective program, with under 11-12% of applicants being admitted at this time. https://penntoday.upenn.edu/news/university-pennsylvania-receives-25-m...

What are the employment opportunities after the completion of Masters in Scientific computing ?. Do people find employment once they graduate the scientific computing course ?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:53
Mukesh, yes, they do find employment. Nearly all of our students find employment/further education opportunities after graduation. You can find more information about that on the Career Services post-graduation survey results here: https://careerservices.upenn.edu/post-graduate-outcomes/  and scroll down.

Will,
I submitted my application on 15th and two recommender also submitted the LOR's before the deadline. Though only 2 LOR's are required, the 3rd one submitted past the deadline. Now will the 3rd LOR be ignored?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:58
Nikhil, it is up to the program as to whether or not they want to include the 3rd letter in your review. However, if it was submitted close to the deadline, it is more likely than not that it will be included.
