Hi,
I have work experience in computer science domain but my undergraduate was in electrical. Should I apply to MCIT or MCIS?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir

Xizt, we actually have an online Coursera course that you can take to determine if you are over-qualified for the MCIT program, https://www.coursera.org/learn/computational-thinking-problem-solving.

Chiling, good day. Our application does not require any financial information. We specifically do not weigh financial need in the admissions process.

For the financial support document of computer science phd application, my bank can proof the amount of money at a specific time spot is that fine?

Hello
Ashruti
10:11
Is it necessary for us to have an official transcript for the admission as I am currently in final year and will get my official transcript in June 2020?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:12
Ashruit, we require an unofficial transcript for the application process. If you are admitted and choose to attend, you are required to send us a final, official transcript.

Hello, I am applying to MSE in Data Science. I sent the score on the test site right after my exam couple weeks ago without being able to refer to the program website. I realized that I sent my score to code 2943 U PENNSYLVANIA GRAD EDUCATION - department code 4323 DATA ANALYTICS instead of the correct code 2888. Can my GRE score still be delivered to Penn Engineering?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:13
Ko-Wun Kim, please send us an email at gradstudies@seas.upenn.edu and we will look into this issue. Please make sure to include your full name as it appears on the exam, so that we can do our best to match it in our test database. At this time I don't believe you'll need to resend your test scores.

I am in the process of applying to the Data Science course. I have uploaded all the transcripts of mine.I see an additional option of Certifile.. Do I need to use it ?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:14
It is not required. We recommend it be used for final transcript collection.
Ashruti
10:13
And do we need to authorize our scores through WES or any other means?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:14
No, you do not. We do not require the use of WES, Certifile, or any other transcript certification service.

Morning! I am applying to the MCIT program. I had a few questions:
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:14
Hi Emily, what are your questions?
Siddhartha
10:15
Also Sir, wanted to ask, What kind of work experience would be admissible for Data Science MSE application?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:16
Siddhartha, anything that you believe is related to the program and would, in your opinion, be relevant.

Is it true that students who apply in the regular admission process earlier than others get more preference? Because i do not want to be hasty with it
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:17
Rhuta, we have several programs that have two admissions deadlines - an early and a regular deadline. The acceptance rate for the early deadline pool is usually a bit higher than the regular deadline pool, at least in part because there are less applications to consider in this pool.

hi my graduation is in computer science and i am planning to enroll for master of computer science in robotics
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:18
Badveli, ok, so Robotics is the concentration you would like to select?
Emily
10:17
I am currently taking a few online classes at different institutions (separate from my undergrad university), so when filling out the education part of the application, do I still list out those schools even though it's just 1-2 classes? And would the program start/end date I put be the class start/end date?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:19
Emily - you only need to list these in the education section if the courses you are taking are for credit. If they are, we require you to report them. If they're not, then it is up to you if you want to mention them on the application or any documents with the application.

Also, for unofficial transcripts, i have copies of my marksheets for all UG years and a passing certificate received from my uni. Will that do?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:19
Rhuta, yes, that should be fine. We would need to make sure that one of the documents verifies that you were awarded your degree.
