I won't rule it out if he falls into the middle of the first round. At that point they wouldn't have to give up all that much to make the deal.

I think it's up to Ben. If he wants to sign a three-year extension I think the Steelers will do it.

Kevin Colbert indicated last week they would pay Boswell his $2.5 million bonus and that he will compete with others for the job this summer.

I don't see why the Steelers would sign a 33-year guard when they have two younger players ready for a promotion already on their 53-man roster. It just doesn't make any financial sense.

Steelers have a log jam at OT - cut Gilbert for cap savings and use $ elsewhere.  This is how the Steelers FO needs to adapt to compete this season.

You might be right. But let me offer this: the running game struggled last season and Gilbert is one of their best run blockers. I'm not saying they should bring him back because of that. I'm just saying they missed his blocking abilities last year. If he's healthy he's a good player. He just hasn't been healthy the past couple of years.

Too 5 scoring offense in the league last year. Why then should running the ball be more of a priority? Fixing a lot of other issues should trump that

That top 5 scoring offense didn't score enough points in games against the Broncos and Raiders, two teams that didn't sniff the playoffs. Let's not make the 2018 Steelers offense to be one of the best in NFL history. Come on.

I know Vance is a ok tightend ,but how could you even compare him to Heath Miller. He’s had more drops in his short career than Heath miller had in 11 years. Plus his blocking is not even close to Miller’s.  I think this is a huge injustice to Miller and let’s Vance play a few years.

That was a reference to Heath Miller in his final NFL game. Not the Heath Miller of 2005-2012 or so. Miller in his final seasons wasn't what McDonald is now. I thought I made that clear in the story. The reference to McDonald and Miller was all about what Miller was at the end of his career.
