Ben didn't turn the ball over a lot until the end of the season. They were one-dimensional and the lack of a running game crippled the offense. Why is this concept so difficult for some to figure out. They need to be better running the ball. Period. Don't give me that stuff about the NFL being a passing league. That type of thinking is what got the Steelers in this mess to begin with.

Justin Layne has the size (6 ft 2 In, 192lbs) and speed (4.5 40yd) and quickness (6.90 3 cone).  What is stopping him from becoming a starter?  Is it the mental aspect of the game, or is he not getting coached well enough?

I'm not sure why he hasn't developed, but the fact that James Pierre played in the dime package in the playoff game over Layne isn't a good sign for his future.

Ray, after listening to Rooney's state of the address of team, has your opinion changed whether Tomlin gets a contract extension this offseason?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:52
His words indicate he will address the contract in some manner, but he was still pretty vague about it.

What is the difference between the requirements for a left tackle vs. a right tackle?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:53
Generally speaking, the left tackle is the better pass protector (especially if you have a right-handed QB) and the right tackle is the better run blocker. But that's changing. Lot of guys are capable of playing both spots and playing them well.

Art specifically mentioned the negative impact on the defense when Bud went down.  Is there any chance we can resign Bud if Ben restructures?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:54
I think Bud will command too much money for that to be a possibility for the Steelers.

Hello Ray...if Zaven Collins is available at #24, do the Steelers take him?  I would think he would be able to fit into the defensive scheme.  Thanks.

I've seen him as an option late in the first round, but in my opinion they have bigger needs at OL and RB.

Any chance they bring back Wisniewski if KC doesn’t resign him? I never understood the Steelers’ logic in releasing him when they did.

This line needs to get younger, NOT OLDER!

Hello Ray, how many OL do you think the Steelers should take in first three rounds of the draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:56
Definitely one and maybe two depending on what happens with Pouncey.

All right. Thanks for joining me today. If I didn't get to your question, Gerry Dulac has his chat tomorrow morning. I'll do another one next Tuesday.
