Powers-Johnson was really good at the Senior Bowl. Frazier is recovering from a broken leg. Van Pran got an invite to the Senior Bowl but pulled out. Right now, I'd go with Powers-Johnson, but this is a long process.

What position do you think the Steelers attack in the draft first? Thanks and have a nice day.
Ray Fittipaldo

OL and DL. Or maybe OL and CB. Or maybe DL and CB. Lots of possibilities.

How big are the Steelers willing to spend in FA? I would love to see them bring in Christian Wilkins but I can't remember remember them ever paying for a high end FA.

You're right. They usually hunt for the bargains in free agency. They are a draft and develop organization.

With Ron Cook announcing his retirement yesterday, any great stories you can share?
Ray Fittipaldo

Too many to tell. We've worked together for more than 25 years. I will say this about Ron. He was a columnist a major market for 25 years and never felt like he arrived. He'd travel midweek for a Big East basketball game back when Pitt was a top 10 team in the country. He loved the Big East tournament. He also went to every Steelers game this season, except for the one in Buffalo after the snowstorm.

What are the chances the Steelers make an offer to Tyler Boyd this offseason to fill the third wide-out position?
Ray Fittipaldo

If the price is right...

Ray,  Is there any chance that Chuks O can redeem himself?  What could he have done that is so bad that he is a complete persona non grata?  Was what he said/did that bad?  Do you or anyone outside of the Steeler's organization know exactly what he did?
Ray Fittipaldo

Nah he's as good as gone. Adequate as a pass blocker and below average as a run blocker. You don't pay guys like that $11 million a year.

would myron rate bubby brister above or below kenny pickett as a nfl qb ?
Ray Fittipaldo

Below Brister but above Kent Graham. Yoi!

Local media here in Mich has Roman Wilson impressing at the Sen. Bowl, your thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:05
He was very good. I like his game. Lots of good WRs in this draft and the Steelers could use a couple.

I heard you say the consensus was that Jackson Powers-Johnson was not only the top OL at the Sen Bowl but the top Offensive player, period. Did I hear it right from another source that he not only did not play in the game but only practiced one day? That... is a high grade if true, how could they pass on him? My opinion is don't play games get him. Also: Is there a second or 3rd round DL that you see making a Center at 1 a possibility?

He tweaked his hamstring in the second practice of the week. So he practiced twice in three days. Not sure when he exited the second practice though. He was very impressive. I hope the hamstring injury doesn't linger into the combine. Not that it would affect his draft stock much.

Ok thanks for all the great questions this week. We'll do it again next Tuesday. Don't forget my mock draft 1.0 drops tomorrow morning at post-gazette.com.
