I don't think we watched the same games.

Ray good analysis on physical traits vs. football skills, and why some picks fail. But haven't the Steelers also erred on the so-called football side? Matekevich has a nose for the ball but not enough athleticism to claim a starting spot. Ditto for Chickillo. I know good ST players, but neither one making a push to start.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:49
Right, but they're also seventh- and fifth-round picks. I don't think you're taking either in hopes of them developing into starters. The fact that Chickillo has been a serviceable backup and good special teams player is good value for a fifth-round pick. Getting a good special teams player is the seventh round is good value. Matakevich will never be a starter, but again, you're not looking to get starters in the seventh round.

I know there is a lot of animosity between AB and the Steelers right now but I think it's in our best interest to try and work things out because we have him and Juju on the outside, they complement each other and we really have nothing else if we lose him.  Agree?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
And what if the antics start up again in training camp? What is your plan then?
Jimmy
12:51
Without Brown wouldn't JuJu still give us as good a #1 WR as either of this years 2 SB teams?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:52
Correct. It would be all about surrounding him with complementary receivers/ players that could push the offense forward. It's not going to be easy, but it is doable.
Roy Fittipalda
12:53
Who will be the Steelers number 3 WR next year? Switzer, Eli, draft pick?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
James Washington or the WR they sign or draft to replace Antonio Brown. TO me, Rogers or Switzer can't be your third receiver. Maybe a fourth.

12:54
How important is it to find another legit OLB to complement TJ Watt?  Or with further development he makes the other OLB spot not as critical?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
I think they can get by another year with Dupree, but he is what he is at this point. I don't think he'll ever develop into a double-digit sack type of OLB. So to answer your question they probably could use an upgrade, but it's down their list of needs. They have more immediate needs at ILB and CB so I think those should be addressed first.

I say trade AB for whatever you can get and move heaven and earth to get Leveon back. Bell is such an extremely unusual talent & I believe he could fuel a SB run if he were happy with his contract situation.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
Why move heaven and earth to bring Bell back when James Conner went to the Pro Bowl. I think Bell might be surprised at his market in March.
No to D. Bush
12:57
Ohio State was the only team Michigan faced last season with anything close to the speed & talent that Bush will face in the NFL. Watch that game again Ray. In fact, as a Wolverine fan, I have to say their whole D, including Gary was way overrated... Not that I like admitting it.

We'll have to wait and see what happens. Your assessment is noted. If I have a chance I'll go back and watch the Ohio State game. But I've seen plenty to suggest he'll be a very good player in the NFL.
12:58
OK thanks for all the questions this week. We'll do another chat next week.
