Good question. It might just be playing bigger on occasion. They played an awful lot with Mark Barron, who weighs 230, as the only LB on the field. Other times, it was Barron and Bush, who also weighs just 230. They felt like they had to play that way to defend the pass, but maybe with the success of teams like the Ravens and the Bill and the Titans, the Steelers will tweak some things over the offseason.

Why can't you ask 2nd or third string linebacker like a
Tyler Matakevich, Robert Spillane or both to play the Full back position? Why waste a roster spot?

It's a very specific skill. I know the Patriots used Roberts as a LB and FB, but not a lot of guys can do it.

Are we just ignoring how bad ben looked in the first two games this past season?  Mason looked better coming in for the second half of the seahawks game.  How can the team be so positive about how much better ben makes this team when the last time he played he looked horrendous and wasn't coming off major throwing arm surgery?

You're right. The offense did not look good with Ben in those first six quarters. But it was only six quarters. I went back and watched the Patriots game again. They had a few missed third- and fourth-and-shorts that were stopped. Plus, they were playing with Donte Moncrief, who we would find out later was a bad signing. I'm not dismissing your question outright. Things were not heading in the right direction when he was healthy, but it's not like it was a large span of games to draw any lasting conclusions.

Mason threw 4 interceptions and was getting sacked for the umpteenth time. He is from Carolina. Garrett and Browns are winning. Why is it so unbelievable for Mason to have uttered those words?  What type of frustration would you have after your 4 int and the reality that you are not the future of the Steelers?

I am currently in Cleveland and the local fans are saying that Mason’s helmet was mic’d up and that the NFL said the helmet/audio from it is MIA.  Which “proves” a coverup of a racist comment being made   I have not heard this from anyone else   Have you heard of the helmet and/or audio from it being “lost” by the nfl?
