The price the Broncos paid for Wilson is ridiculous (3 players + 2 1st round picks + 2 2nd round picks). Do you think Wilson is worth this package? I don't think so.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Especially in that division with Mahomes and Herbert. They might not even make the playoffs.
Jerry
2:28
Do you think Steelers are really players for center Ryan Jenson, or is this just rumor
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Would be out of character for them to spend that much on a free agent, but this is not a typical Steelers offseason. And by that, I mean they have the cap space to make such a move.

Hey Ray, just wanted to say I love your newest mock draft, at least the first three picks. After that I don’t know the players but I’d be thrilled if that’s their haul for the first three rounds! Well done sir

Thanks!

Our defensive coaching staff seems stacked with the Austin promotion and the Flores addition.  Yet I am just baffled by the decision-making on the offensive coaching side.  How can Tomlin be making such good decisions with one side of the staff while simultaneously making such obviously poor decisions on the other side?

He believes in Canada, for better or worse.

Any new noise on Winston signing with the Steelers?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
No

Ray some writers have said you need to draft a potential HOF type player in round one  even if not for a position of need, Your thoughts
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
I don't know what this means. If it means drafting best player available over a position of need in a year like this for the Steelers then yes definitely go BPA.

Hi Ray - what about our #1 and M.R. for Jordan Love?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
And what makes you think Love can play? Did you see him in the game he had to play when Rodgers had COVID?
MIke I.
2:31
Do you believe an inside linebacker should be high on the free agency wish list? VanderEsch or Hightower perhaps?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
I don't know about high on the list, but on the list. OL is the highest on the list.
Matt

Ray, wouldn’t going to a 4-3 defense be best for this team?  We have two inside LBs with different weaknesses on the field at the same time.  One gets overmatched and the other can’t cover.  Going to 4-3 adds beef on the D-Line and eliminates one of the two ILB weaknesses.  Time to draft/sign multiple DL studs and make the switch.  The 4-3 worked for us in the 70s and many of the recent Super Bowl winners used a 4-3.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
I'm fine with 3-4 as a base defense. (They actually play with 4-3 principles in sub-packages). They just need to have better ILB and DL play next season.

2:34
what positions do you think the Steelers will Target in Fa. Because those signing usually set the table for the Draft.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
OL first. Could see them go in a number of different directions after that. And honestly it might depend on what happens with some of their own free agents.

ILB: What is your ideal outcome, roll with Joe, DB, and Rob? See about Buddy? Sign a mid-level FA? Thank you kindly.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
Devin and option C, but it might be Devin and see about Buddy along with Spillane.

Hey I here ya'll are looking for a QB after AR and Russell decided they ain't comin. Ya'll interested ?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
Would you mop up for Mason?

2:36
No Hayward in your draft. Did you think he is not worth it or will be gone before the last few picks?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
I could definitely see the Steelers taking Heyward. But it wouldn't be until late or in undrafted free agency.
Cain
2:37
Ray can you see the Steelers going after JC Jackson?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
He's going to cost a lot of $$$. I read somewhere he was going to ask for $20 million a year. But even if it ends up being $17-18 million do the Steelers want to tie up that much money in a CB when they already have big money tied up in TJ and might have big money tied up in Fitzpatrick. You can't have the highest-paid player at every defensive position. It kills your cap eventually.
Danno
2:39
The comments from Steeler players since the season all seem to reference bringing a new QB in, do you think that could be a sign that Mason is definitely not the preferred option?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:40
I find it odd the players have talked the way they have, but I don't think it influences the front office.

Ray, were there clock problems at the combine? Are all those receivers really that fast? Is Ridder really a 4.5 40?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
A new turf surface so faster times. Apparently teams are taking this into account. Speculation is some of these times won't be repeated at pro days as a result. Then again, if you ran 4.3 or 4.4 at the combine, why run again at your pro day?

Any FA OL on the radar that you would think is a good value long term solution?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:42
James Daniels of the Bears, Connor Williams of the Cowboys.
AZ Stiller
2:44
Silly question before but seriously.....sounds like the knock on Willis and Ridder is accuracy and possibly decision making or going through their progressions. Isn't that what makes a QB good or great? Can those shortcomings be coached in your opinion? Can you think of past QB's that carried similar concerns but that worked out well in the NFL?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:44
Look how well the Ravens have done with Lamar Jackson, who continues to have some of those same issues. That speed and athleticism makes up for a lot.
Jay
2:45
If Edmunds leaves, which cheap FA Safety do you like?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:45
Draft one. It's a good year for safeties in the draft.

2:45
Any idea what JuJu is looking for and what the Steelers would be willing to pay?  I am hoping he stays.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:46
I can't see the Steelers going much higher than the $8 million they paid him last season. He's a No. 2 WR. Diontae Johnson is their No. 1 and they have to think long and hard about extending him this summer.
