Did the Lions overpay Sutton?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:23
We'll find out in a couple of years, but they guaranteed him $22.5 million so he's not getting cut in the next two years. And it's only a three-year deal.

Which starter needs to be replaced more? Dotson, Cole or Jack. Each of those 3 had their warts exposed last yr.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:23
I would say Dotson just based on the penalties and some of his struggles in pass pro, although I will point out he was much better in the second half of the season.

Ray do you think the steelers main focus should be in the trenches in both offense and defense during the draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:24
And on CBs.
Koachspeak
2:24
Who will still be on the roster in 24-25 season? Moore or Chuks
Ray Fittipaldo
2:24
Maybe neither.

Taking into consideration the depth of quality candidates for each position in this draft, and where the Steelers pick in the first few rounds, what position do you think is most important for the team to add to in free agency before the draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:25
OLB. Need a vet to be a No. 3 but they should draft a guy in the middle rounds who can develop into a No. 3 in short order.

What do you think will be happen at SS? Edmunds or Kazee returns, go outside in FA or look to the draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
Kazee is back. It just happened a little while ago.

Part of the Steelers issue is being old on defense.  Well, they just got older.  This is the reason (I believe) why they didn't sign Joe Haden.  Now they did the opposite.  How does this make sense?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
The obvious answer is they believe Peterson has some juice left in those legs. And don't discount the mentor aspect of the move. I think we all know they're going to draft a corner, maybe two. Who better to mentor them than a future Hall of Famer?
Matt Pereira
2:27
Nice job on your latest mock. might b a dream scenario though. Any chance or interest by the steelers if  Addison slips to 32 and we snatch him?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
I would view that as a luxury pick at this point, but let's see what happens in the rest of free agency.

I'm ok with Sutton leaving because this team hasn't won a postseason game in 6 years.  Major changes are needed.  Shouldn't the team be focused on bringing in young players that will be part of the team for a long time though?  Peterson is not the missing piece to make them a Super Bowl team this season.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Again, they will add to the CB room in the draft. It's a must. No CBs on the roster right now are under contract in 2024. They need to start building their secondary of the future now.

Morning Ray!! I read that Buggs signed a two year contract extension worth 6 million. Not bad for a guy that the Steelers let walk. What do you think the problem was with him In Pittsburgh? He never really seemed to do much when he was actually on the field.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
Buggs didn't seem to be a favorite of the coaches. Not sure if it was Tomlin or Butler or Dunbar, but he never earned consistent playing time. Having said that, $3 million a year is a low-tier signing. He's a depth player for them. Good for him for finding a home and realizing he has a good fit. It wasn't a good fit with the Steelers for whatever reason.

How about a non football question as the chat gallery keeps asking the same questions In different ways every week.  Your favorite food but you had to eat it every day for a month?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
Falagone. I'd eat that every day of the year. And hey, it is Pi day!

If top CBs and LTs off board... and Bijan Robinson somehow ended up at 17... do you feel he is a rare enough talent, that it could be possible/worth taking him?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:33
Can't justify that pick. How would he and Harris get enough playing time?

Have you watched "Footbahlin with Ben" ?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
I see the clips here and there.

2:34
Ray, when is your next mock draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
After free agency so depending on what happens this week, maybe next week or the week after. Whenever I get the sense they are done signings guys.
Steve in Canton
2:35
Would you bring back Bud Dupree on a contract similar to that of Peterson's?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
Maybe a little less but yeah if he's willing to accept that role.
Walter K
2:36
Who played better last year? Cole or Dotson
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
I'd say Cole was more consistent.

What’s more important to the Steelers D, #3 CB or #3 OLB?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
No. 3 CBs play a lot more.
Matt
2:37
Steelers just signed Kazee and Nate Herbig. thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
I like Kazee. I have to do my homework on Herbig. Don't know much about him honestly.

All things being equal, would you take an ILB or a big NT like Ika in round 2?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
Great question. It's not a deep or great ILB class so they might get pushed up boards. I'm intrigued by a return to old-school football on some levels, but it's always ruined when I realize a guy like Ika might play 10 snaps some weeks.

Has Loudermilk disappointed since they moved up to grab him? What is Leal primary position ? Ty
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
I would say yes on Loudermilk although they knew he was somewhat of a project. Time for him to step up. Leal really doesn't have a position per se. He can play a few positions in the front seven.
