That seems to be the body types the colleges are producing. You can always draft a guy like that and ask them to add weight. Or do what they did with Leal and embrace the versatility. The game is always evolving and front office types and coaches have to be able to evolve along with it.

Do you see the Steelers bring back Benny Snell or  do you see another undrafted F.A. coming in to take his roster spot?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:20
If they want him they're not in a hurry to re-sign him, that's for sure. If he wants to come back and be No. 3 and play special teams for the league minimum I'd be OK with that. But they can also get someone like him in the seven round or undrafted free agency.

Hey Ray, If both T Jones and CB Porter are there at pick 17, who would you pick and why?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:21
I would pick Jones because corners are plentiful in this draft. The OT class is not nearly as deep.

2:21
Any way we can trade Dotson for a 6th round pick?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:22
If someone wants him for a sixth-round pick and is willing to take on his $2.7 million salary I would do it if I was Omar Khan.

Do you believe Joey Porter, Jr has the talent to be a shut down CB in the NFL?  I saw him play live once last fall against OSU and he seemed a bit over matched against their WRs.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:23
I think he has potential to be good starting CB. Does he have shutdown or future All-Pro potential? I don't know. I don't know if any of these CBs do. But it is a deep class, and they should be able to find a good starter with one of their first three picks.

Assuming the Steelers draft an OT, who do u see as the 2 weakest current OL who could fall to back up role
Ray Fittipaldo
2:24
Moore for sure.

Hello, Ray, and thank you.  One question that's perplexed me is whether scheduling the start of free agency well before the draft instead of vice-versa is to the overall advantage of the franchises, the the players, or neither.  Do you have any thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:24
I think it benefits the players because they'd lose negotiating power if teams were able to fill holes with younger players before they became free agents.

Hey Ray what do you think about adding Hardman or do they like Miller in the slot. Ps will Bud return
Ray Fittipaldo
2:25
They kept Miller on IR for a reason. At the very least they want to take a look at him again to see if he is an option. I don't think they're counting on him, but they believe he has talent.

Hey Ray, on paper as of today what is your prediction (after all the off season moves) of the finishing order of the AFC North next season? I would project it to be: Bengals, Ravens (if Jackson is their QB), Steelers, Browns. You?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
Bengals definitely No. 1. Can't predict the rest without knowing if Jackson is back in Baltimore, but the Steelers would be third either way. The Browns can't get out of their own way so they'd be fourth.

The ILB group was weak last year.  As bad as it was, I don't think the recent signings are a significant upgrade.  Am I being a pessimist?  There are some good run games in the North and the steelers dont seem to mind getting run over.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
Let's wait to see what they add in the draft. And it might not be an ILB that makes the difference. It could be a DL.

Hey Ray thanks for the chat....if you could have any of the three top tackles in the draft fall to the Steelers at #17, which one would you prefer? I see mixed reviews on them!
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Skoronski, Jones and then Johnson for me.
Alex T
2:28
Why does Chucks get a pass as he is just as inconsistent as Moore.  Don't we need 2 Tackles?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Yes but can't get two starters in the same draft. If they have to live with Okorafor for another year they can do that.

2:29
Hi Ray..........Do you think the Steelers keep Gunner Oszelski...........or do they let him go?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
He had a nice camp last year and earned his spot on the team. He didn't play as well during the season so I'm sure if they can upgrade there they will.

Ray-  isn’t Edmunds an important spoke in the Steelers’ wheel?  Solid but not spectacular- kinda Robin to Minkah’s Batman…
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
Sure but they won't break the bank for him. They showed that last year. And it's pretty clear other teams view him in similar fashion.

Ray. Would Pickett be amongst the top 5 QB’s in this draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
I think so.
Alex T
2:30
If all of the top 5 CBs are gone and the 3 OTs are gone, would you pull the trigger on the Safety from Alabama at 17?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
Brian Branch is a good player, but when you draft at 17 you want a starter. Branch is a slot CB with possible safety versatility. I just don't see how he stays on the field like a full-time starter unless the DC is very creative. And most important, Branch is capable of playing two different positions in the secondary from snap to snap. That's extremely difficult.
Hi Ray -
2:33
What do you think of that massive TE from GA?  Not a ton of production by what a huge red zone target?  Playing more 12 personal is not a bad idea
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
They played with 12 personnel a lot last season. Zach Gentry played 50% of the snaps. I kind of look at Washington the same way I do Branch. How do you get him enough playing time with Freiermuth entrenched as the starter. Washington in the second round would be OK but not at 17.

Denver signed a new punter. any chance we bring back Waitman? I thought he outpunted Presley when he was here.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
I'd be all for that competition in camp. I thought Waitman deserved a better fate with the Steelers, but I understand their desire to give Harvin a clean slate after he dealt with some personal issues off the field as a rookie.
Mike from Erie, PA

Hi Ray,  If the BPA is a RT, any chance we take him and move OKORAFOR to LT ?  Colbert used to say that that was his natural poisition.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
Yean until training camp 2021.

Gm fittipaldo has equally rated it, dt and db at 17,32, 49. Which order would you draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
Again, I'd go DL because this CB class is deep. Take advantage of the depth later and get a difference maker up front first.
Hi Ray -
2:37
What do you make of DL from Clemson? He seems to be all over the board.  Mid to late fist, second?
