Saw a rumor that Trubisky is getting cut. Is this true?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
No. Tomlin said this week he was the backup. And that came a few weeks after Omar Khan said nice things about him at the combine.

If the Ravens trade Lamar, does that put them above or below the Browns in the division?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
Below for sure.

Could Steelers get a 4th or 5th from Titans or Patriots for Mason Rudolph?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
Mason Rudolph is an unrestricted free agent. The Steelers no longer control his rights.
KDub
2:38
Is Kancey a possibility for the Steelers at 17 or 32?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
Given his size, I doubt it. He's a really good player though, and I think he fits certain defenses better.

2:39
Ray, I like your latest Mock, having them taking a OT at 17. I'd pass on the Ohio OT but what is your opinion on 'if' Jones & Wright are both there at 17?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
Probably Wright.
2:40
I guessed you meant Dawand and not Broderick.

I think Rudolph is better than most backup quarterbacks and even better than a few starters.  Why isn't he signed?  Tomlin definitely did him dirty.  Do you think that has tainted his reputation around the league?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
Teams love mobility at the position now and Rudolph can't move very well.

If 65-70% of a staff is one race, how is that the most diverse?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
So what would your definition of diverse be?

Man... if Schoonmaker is still there in Rd 4 at 120... Take Him! He would be yet another in a long line of Michigan TEs for the Steelers. Which brings me to this comment & question: Why would they only sign Gentry to a 1yr deal? He clearly came into his own from a slow first few years and is trending way up. They have the money so... Was it Gentry not wanting a longer deal beause he believes he can be a #1 TE? If Freirmuth gets injured...
Ray Fittipaldo
2:42
Gentry has zero upside in the passing game. No other team was beating down his door. Blocking tight ends don't move the needle much in free agency.

Ray, what is a "five technique"?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:43
A player who aligns over the outside shoulder of an offensive tackle. A 3-technique aligns over the outside shoulder of the guard.

Based off what you're hearing, who are the three prospects you think have the most likely shot to be the pick at 17?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:44
Hard to say with names because you don't know who's going to be off the board when they pick. But I still think it's CB, DL and OL at 17.

Hi Ray - after all of the changes at ILB do you think the team is better or about the same? Do you think they address ILB depth in the draft or more free agents? Thanks.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:45
No way of knowing yet. Have to wait and see how the new guys play. They believe Holcomb can be a three-down player so that's why he commanded a three-year deal.

Hi Ray, If the team skips LT early, is Kadeem Telfort (UAB) a possible late round UDFA in your opinion? Also, who do you like better at IDL/NT Siaki Ika or Keanu Benton? Seems like Benton has more position flexibility, but Ika is a LOAD.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:47
You are right about Benton. He probably has more versatility. Ika would be a nose tackle who would thrive against the run but probably couldn't play on passing downs.

Seems like the pundits are trending away from Porter to the Steelers at 17. Why is that? Is he gone before then?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:47
He might not be there at 17, but if he is I think he would be in play for the Steelers.

Steelers have some brotherly love in the Watts and Heywards. What do you think of JJ Watt coming in at mid-season to join the fiesta?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:48
JJ Watt made it clear he's not playing for the league minimum. He seems happy in retirement.

What’s Ed doing these days, does he have any involvement with you guys?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:49
Like JJ Watt, Ed is enjoying retirement too!. And yes we keep in touch.

Has Tomlin said anything yet at the meetings on why he retained Canada?  I don't know anyone who is excited about this.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:49
He didn't add much to what Art Rooney II said in January.

The Steelers went 9-8 in a rebuilding year with a rookie qb. I like the direction were going. They need to get a stud cb and beef up the dline. With that and proper coaching and with the experience pickett got i think we can be really good
Ray Fittipaldo
2:50
Vegas has them at 8.5 for wins. I think that's low. I think they should make the playoffs.

Do you like the prospect of a 4th and 15 on side conversion attempt from the 20? I do. Onsides kicks have become boring.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:51
As I mentioned earlier, I'd like to see a trail run first in preseason games.

Hi Ray, Love your insight and when you're on the podcasts. Do you think the Edmunds pay was their thinking or wanting more"splash" ala the linebacker changes?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:53
Turnover production is something all defensive backs should provide some level. Unfortunately for Edmunds, he struggled with the Steelers getting INTs, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. He just didn't have a knack for it. Sometimes that can't be taught.

Chances Harris leads the league in rushing this year?
