'27 picks would have to be included.

Hi Ray. Thank you for the chat. Do they practice in Ireland for the week?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:48
I don't know the details of their itinerary, but I believe they are arriving on Wednesday so yes they'd practice over there all week.

Good afternoon Ray how did Will Howard and Jack Sayer along with the other draft picks and undrafted free agents look during Rookie minicamp GO STEELERS
Ray Fittipaldo
12:49
We only got to watch the morning sessions, and they were walk-throughs. But I will say this: I was impressed with Howard's command of the huddle and how he interacted with teammates. You can tell he's a quality leader.

Ray, how big of an impact do you think Harmon can have on the D-line? Can he be disruptive enough to draw attention away from Watt and Highsmith?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:49
They better hope because he's going to have to play a lot as a rookie.

Should we expect 9-8 this year and the Steelers using the draft capital they have built up to move to top 10? Top 5? Pick next year?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
Depends on who the QB is, but 9-8 is right around where they always are, isn't it?
Redshirt
12:51
Can you give us anything on the Harmon injury? I know the team doesn't think it's a big deal, but what does that mean? That they're ok w a probable injury & redshirt year due to player quality? Is it a long standing thing perhaps, and that's why they don't mind?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
Harmon told reporters last week he's 100% and that's it's not an issue.

How many primetime games we getting?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
They always seem to get the max, or close to it. I would expect the same this year.

Ray, I’ve read on several occasions that Mason Rudolph is very well liked and respected by the vast majority of the locker room. If that is the case, why do you think several high profile veterans openly lobbied for Russell Wilson to sign with the team last year rather than give Mason a shot after he saved the 2023 season?

Sometimes the shiny new toys aren't as reliable as the old ones, are they?

No question, just a comment... For all the Will Howard is the next Tom Brady believers, I'd like to remind you that Back in 2006 UF had a quarterback named Chris Leak who won a national champion, but did nothing in the NFL.  Also, even Tim Tebow, who also won a championship, didn't do much in the NFL except tear up the Steelers for one playoff game.

Thanks Mike!

When did the city of champions become the city of the chase for over .500 for all the major sports teams? If you count the Pirates as a major sports team.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
Chase for .500? The Pirates would sign in blood for a .500 record.

They had Kyle Juszczyk in for a free agent visit. Then they give out the highest signing bonus to a non-QB UDRFA to Thomas-Jones who is listed as FB on their website. What in the name of Dan Kreider is going on? Are they giving serious consideration to using a FB?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
Not necessarily, but if they find one like Juszcyk, who is versatile, then it might be worth the roster spot. Juszcyk, in his prime, was much more than a fullback.

Your guess for opening week game?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
Pure speculation, but a primetime game against the Packers might draw some eyeballs.

Ray, any chance the Steelers stay at their current location instead of moving for a new practice facility? Couldn’t they just have Pitt go somewhere else? And if all else fails, blame Mike Tomlin.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:58
I think they want their own facility and from a logistical perspective it makes sense for Pitt to stay there. The Steelers can move anywhere.

Can you think of another 6th round pick who became a franchise QB besides Brady?  I can’t.  Closest would be Marc Bolger.  Brady was an extreme outlier.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:58
I am aware.

Hello, Ray, and thanks for the chats.George throwing shade on the Steelers on the way out gives you all the evidence you need that this t*rd wasn't worth the squeeze. I don’t know how ANYONE could argue that keeping him was the correct option. Entitled, immature, and selfish, and those are his good qualities. Thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:59
My thoughts are I had no problem with the trade. For the Steelers, even if Pickens puts up a 1,000-yard season, it can still be a success if they win without him.

I know you’re aware that Brady is an outlier.  The fans don’t appear to get it.

Fans like to have hope. It's OK to dream a little in the spring. What's the harm in seeing how Howard does this summer and fall? You never know.
OK that's it for this week. We'll do it again next Tuesday.
