Johnson, Claypool, Austin, Pickens and then probably Gunner because he's a returner. Need a No. 5 though. So maybe Cody White or Anthony Miller.

Minicamp is next week.

biggest question heading into the season.  DL, ILB, OL?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
I'd say OL because it probably underperformed more than the other position groups you mentioned.

Ray- Love the chats and appreciate your perspective on all things Steelers.  I’m also a big believer that the Steelers’ FO knows a lot more than us fans, and I generally give them the benefit of the doubt.  But I’m still scratching my head on the moves they made (and didn’t make) to build the OL and shore up the DL last year going into the season.  And I am concerned that they didn’t do enough this year either.  Can you make me feel better about that?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
They're counting on Daniels and Cole being upgrades over Turner and Green from last year. But to your point, they have to prove it.

How many times this year do you realistically think the Steelers will face Watson and Lamar this season? Suspenstions, hold-outs, injuries...
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
OK best guess, they'll face Watson once and Jackson twice.

You don't think Boykin will make the team?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Maybe Boykin can be the No. 5. With the fifth WR it's all about contributing on special teams.

Ray,       Has Alualu been participating in practice, if so how does he look.  Thank you.
Ray Fittipaldo

Good. He said his rehab was a grind, but it's feeling good now.
2:30
Well, it's three and a half months away, can I wait to see what transpires in training camp first?

How in the world is everyone picking the Pats over the Steelers? The Pats didn't improve through the draft and they haven't even named an Offensive Coordinator yet. Who are picking in that game?

No depth at OlB or corner is troublesome. One injury and the season could be in trouble. Could the add at some point Ray??
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
Their depth at CB isn't all that bad. OLB, yeah a little concern there.

June 6-9

Seems like they have plenty of depth at interior O-Line.  Do they have a legit backup for right tackle?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
Joe Haeg right now is the swing tackle. NFL teams don't look for backup right tackles. They need a player who can play either tackle position as the top backup.

Do you think they'll add another veteran WR after OTAs?  Thanks for your chats!
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
I doubt it.

How much of an upgrade is Gunner over McCloud?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
On punt returns? I'd imagine he's a pretty big upgrade. But McCloud also developed into a viable No. 5 receiver. He contributed last season like a No. 3. Gunner has never done that, but perhaps he'll have better luck cracking the Steelers' WR rotation than he did with the Patriots.

Ray Ray:  better athlete at QB, Pickett or MT?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
From what I've seen in OTAs, I'd say they're similar.

Is Zach Banner still without a team? If so, why do you think it’s so?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
Yes and he's only a right tackle. Teams don't need guys like that unless they're starters.
2:40
OK that's all the time I have for this week. Time to do some writing. We'll do another chat next week.
