Jack had some injury concerns, which I think is why other teams have shied away.

If Cam Heyward’s career would end right now would he be a hall of famer?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:16
I think so yes. He's done it at a high level for a long time.

Trice's college coach thought he would be the 1st player drafted from the team; his speed, length, and height is the same as Porter Jr. and over 90% of the mock drafts I viewed had him going closer to the 2nd or 3rd round than the 7th.  Am I crazy to think he will be the steal of the entire draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:18
Trice definitely has some potential, but I don't think we'll know the answer to your question this season.

Hi Ray-would you use any of next years draft capital to try and work a trade for ILB DevinWhite - unhappy in Tampa?  I would who cares how much we are paying the Defense - with MC still the OC we need to hold teams to the least amount of points as possible right?
Ray Fittipaldo

They just spent $$$ on Holcomb and Roberts. They're aren't going to break the bank and trade for White.

Ray, it will be interesting to see in Najee gets a second contract, we all know he is very close to Mike Tomlin, he seems to be a great person for sure, a good RB also, in my view I would not pay him to much to stay, middle of the road to be fair, I think Warren is as good, plenty of RB’s who can get the job done nowadays, I still believe we should have spent that pick in any position other than RB. How would you play it if in charge, thanks ..
Ray Fittipaldo
3:19
If he has a good year pick up the fifth-year option and go year to year.

Good afternoon, Ray.  Optimism abounds, and for most every team. In your view, have Steelers improved that much more than enough teams in division and AFC to realistically get into the playoffs and maybe win a game or two?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:20
I don't know about winning a game or two once they get there, but the playoffs are a realistic expectation I believe.

Hey Ray.  While I love the play and intensity of TJ Watt, he takes some key plays off.  I know he gives his all when he is on the field, but isn't that  the expectation of all players?  If a player isn't giving his all every play, he shouldn't play.  Is it too much to ask to be able to play every snap and rest when the other defense is on the field?
Ray Fittipaldo

You'll have to show me video of TJ Watt taking plays off. I know sometimes he gambles and gets caught, but he's not taking plays off very often.

Cam Heyward is not a HOFer, come on Ray he’s a good solid player let’s be real
Ray Fittipaldo
3:22
If you say so John.

Any feel on which rookie has impressed the most to this point? Early, I know
Ray Fittipaldo

I can give you a better answer in mid-August once they're in pads for a few weeks. My guess is it will be Joey Porter Jr. or Keeanu Benton.

How many players on the 53 man roster make the league minimum?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:24
It fluctuates from year to year, but I would venture to say 10-12 players each year make the league minimum.

Was it more dumb or desperate to draft and use Kendrick Green as the starting center two seasons ago?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:24
They were desperate obviously.

Can minkah play like me?  Curious how much range he has and whether he can take over a game like I used to.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:25
Different players. Both great in their own way.

Do you think the Steelers will go after Chase Young? I remember Tomlin being impressed when we played them a few years ago.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:26
And where he will play? They have TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith entrenched as starters.

Ray, thank you for taking our questions today.  I was wondering, in all your years of covering the team, what are the games that stand out to you as the most improbable comeback and the most heartbreaking defeat?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:27
They led for most of the 2015 playoff game against the Bengals, but they trailed late. That game was memorable in a lot of ways. In terms of heartbreaking defeats you'd have to ask the players. I think they had a chance to make a deep run in 2015. They led the Broncos in the divisional round the next week and lost on a Fitz Toussaint fumble. The Broncos went on to win a Super Bowl. That 2015 team had its flaws, but there was something special about it too.

Why even answer any more Chase Young questions...it must be so annoying for you guys, the way fan sites start a rumor and then you inevitably see the 'rumors heating up' titles.

It's silly, but you'd be surprised how many people ask about it. You're right. They see a headline and think it's true.
OK thanks for all the great questions this week. We'll so it again next week.
