That was one incident with Metcalf, albeit a big one. There were about 20 incidents with Pickens. Let's not forget about that.

I don't think they're moved by what other teams are paying their corners. They have a number in mind they're willing to pay Porter and I don;t think they'll stray far from that number.

JPJ on the PUP list sure sounds suspicious. It looks more like the old hold-in to me. And especially after what Ward signed for with the Browns. Your thoughts.

This is now an annual rite of camp. TJ Watt, Cam Heyward and others took this route. Teams are used to it. The Steelers are used to it. The issue for Porter is he's starting over with a new coaching staff. He didn't practice in the spring and he won't be practicing early in camp (unless something happens with the contract). I know it's business, but Porter has to practice some before the season starts whether he gets his contract or not.

Enjoyed the training camp countdown articles.  Thanks!  I haven't heard/read much of anything on B Jones.  Glad he was cleared.  But what's your take from what you know of him, roster and coaches - once he gets the rust off and given the opportunity, does he have it to be a solid contributor that we all believed and hoped he'd be?  I've always been a fan of his talents.  I sure hope he's up to the task because he'd make this line a formidable front against any defense.

McCarthy mentioned his position versatility yesterday. He also mentioned he's a starting-caliber player. I think they're leaving it open and will let the competition decide who goes where. Jones will be eased back into practices. Let's see where he is in the third week of camp after the pads have been on for a little bit.
