By season’s end do you believe Max and Dunker will be starters thus completing the total line draft rebuild?  Nice drafting I would say if this were to happen.  Wise investments

Based on what I've seen I think Iheanachor will be. Dunker is being brought a long in a different way.

Hey Ray! Long question here - I heard Rodgers say in a conference that the West coast offense is basically gone in the nfl other than what Mike is doing. Other people say all teams basically run the same plays with different names. Which is true? Are McCarthy’s schemes outdated for the modern NFL?

I think every coach in the NFL has to sprinkle in the college concepts because that's how these QBs and WRs are developed. You have to evolve. But Mike believes in his system. He's not going to rip up his playbook because the game is evolving. He'll simply add to his playbook.

When the Steelers added Weidle as assistant GM did it become two against one? If Andy and Omar wanted a player and Tomlin wanted someone else did Andy and Omar win? It has long been reported that Tomlin would win any disagreements over Colbert. Did that dynamic change?

No, it didn't work that way. Andy has always said it's his job to find players for the coach's scheme. That remains the same under Mike McCarthy. The player has to be a fit for the offensive and defensive scheme. Most great players are versatile enough to fit into any scheme but you'll see some players that are more scheme-specific as the draft goes on.

Do you think the 53 man roster for opening day will consists of 4 WB, 3 RB, 4 TE (Nowakowski included), 9 OL, and 6 WR on offense? Gives them 26 spots on O, 24 on D and 3 for ST.

I'll probably do my first 53-man projection after the first preseason game. It's too hard to predict now. We've only seen two padded practices.

Ray: Any chance that Asante Samuel and Everett have looked good enough to think of Porter as a trade candidate?  It would save a ton of future cap space for a player that might be dramatically over valuing himself.  The Jets got two #1s for Gardner.

Not unless the negotiations go completely haywire. But at the very least they have discovered that Samuel and Everette appear to be better than anticipated options if there is an injury to Porter or Dean.

Ray: Whatever is left of Sports Illustrated had a "too early" mock draft. Would you be more surprised that they had the Steelers picking 10th or that they had them passing on three first round QBs who went later (including my favorite, Mensah) to take a DL?

Yes it's "way too early" but drafting 10th would mean they finished with 5 or 6 wins. That would be a big disappointment after the way they approached this offseason.

Hi Ray, Do you think they are wishing they had grabbed a safety instead of receiver?  Which is harder to replace?

Not sure, but it will be interesting to see how Thieneman develops. I think he's going to be a really good pro. Iheanachor looks like he's on the right track too.
