Not in the past few years, but they had quality depth for many years under Kevin Colbert. The COVID year and some other things conspired against him in the final few years of his tenure to depleted the depth. It's been a focus for Omar Khan and Andy Weidl. They think they've added quality players to the mix.

That could happen, but only if Chuks is really bad. MOre likely to happen next year when his dead cap hit decreases to about $3 million.

What would some of the receivers on the outside looking in (White, Butler, etc.) have to do to make the squad?  My feeling is that Boykin and Gunner are ahead of them.

It comes down to special teams. Boykin is really good on teams and White would have to prove to Danny Smith he could handle Boykin's duties without a drop-off in quality of play.

Do you think the Steelers get lucky again on a late August cut like they did with Joe Haden in '17. Or will these last two signings at CB be they type of CB's they bring in?

Joe Haden came in and started after he was waived. The Steelers aren't really looking for a starter now. If someone fell into their lap? Then sure, but Peterson, Wallace and Porter are fine as a trio. Maybe they could upgrade over Pierre at the No. 4 CB spot.
