Again, it depends on who is available. If it's an upgrade and the price isn't high then they won't hesitate.

Ray, I have been ready to move on from Eric Ebron since last season, as we have enough and more talented receivers on this 53 man squad with JuJu/Claypool/Johnson/Washington.   Time to employ Friermuth/Gentry/Rader in more "two TE" sets to strengthen and enhance the run game and build on the strengths and toughness of these three TE's.  Wishful thinking on my part or might it happen?  Your thoughts, thank you.

I think you'll see the tight ends utilized more, but they like their receivers too. And I don't think Ebron is going anywhere. His playing time likely will decrease, but he still adds some value in the red zone.

Hi Ray, can you please explain the rule prohibiting you (and others) from reporting things you see at camp unless you get confirmation from a player and/or coach? Or did you not see the Minkah/Chase scrum with your own eyes? This sounds like some kind of insane league overreach -- or brand protection run amok. I don't get it.

The Steelers actually allow more access to practices than most teams across the league. We can watch the entire practice while other teams limit it to a small window. In terms of the guidelines we live under, yes we cannot report what we see unless a player or coach confirms it. So with that fight yesterday, two players confirmed it happened and one of them confirmed who was involved. So we wrote about it. (Brian Batko handled the story for us). And there is value in watching practice even if we can't write about it that day. We can see what's going on with the team, and it gives us an idea of what's going on.

Is Banner injured?  Why was Moore at LT and Chuks back to RT yesterday?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:31
As I mentioned earlier it would appear he had a setback with his knee. And reading between the lines they feel more comfortable with Chuks at RT and Moore at LT. Chuks has 19 starts at RT in his career and Moore was a three-year starter at LT for Texas A&M.

Thanks again for this chat Ray!  Isaiah Buggs interview after the Panther game had shown respect to the process.  Is I. Buggs still a stop gap or has his ceiling gotten higher becoming a contributor?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:32
He's on the fringe of the roster, but I thought he helped himself with his performance against the Panthers. He can play nose and end, which is in his favor. Not sure he's 100% on the roster, but I had him making it in my final projection on Sunday.

Hello Ray.  It is my understanding that in addition to punting, Harvin can also pass.  I think this may have been one of the reasons he won the job.  Agree?  Thank you Ray.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:33
No. He won the job because he can punt. How many times a year can you fake punt? Once or twice?

Thoughts on Dan Moore?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:34
He's improved since the start of camp, but starting a rookie at left tackle would be a bold move.

Will this be the worst offensive line that we have had in the last 50 years?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:35
50 years? I don't know about that. Wasn't the line really bad in the 80s when they had all of those lean years?

I’m sure you saw that Cam was released by NE. I hope Tomlin doesn’t take that on as another project. Thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo

I never had any respect for Newton after he fumbled in the Super Bowl and didn't try to recover his own fumble.

Ray, HCMT and Offensive line coach Klemm must think that Moore is a better fit at LT than the other two "extra" OL tackles who are taking up space.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:37
Or they don't think Moore is comfortable at right tackle and they know Chuks can play the right side.

What’s Steelers cap space and ability to trade for additional corner? this is a passing league and we play the Bills first.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:38
They have the cap space, just not the draft capital.

Worst I line was in the 60’s when they had Buzz Nutter at center and Charley (Mr Clean because he never got his jersey dirty) Bradshaw et al

That's more than 50 years ago!

Do you think the watt extension gets done or is there a chance he doesn't agree to a deal?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:39
I think it gets done.

The worst O Line I can remember is 2003 when Faneca played almost every position at one point or another.
Ray Fittipaldo

Yeah that team was 6-10.

Any chance Haden gets extended before the season?
Ray Fittipaldo

I doubt it.

There will be Steelers fans that want them to sign Cam Newton. Please explain why it would be a bad idea.

Hello Ray, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Ebron traded or released in order for the other 3 tight ends to beef up the run game. There's plenty of receiving weapons without him. Would you agree? Thank you.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:41
And then what happens if Freiermuth gets hurt. Zach Gentry going to get open in the passing game?
I know nothing!
1:41
Do practice squad players have a year contract or just week to week checks ? Thanks for chatting Ray!
Ray Fittipaldo
1:41
They are week to week, even day to day. I've seen guys signed one day and cut the next.

Hi Ray. What's your final won-loss record prediction for this season?  I feel MT's first losing season is upon us.  Hope not.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:42
I think I'm going with 8-9.
Ok that's it for this week. I have to go watch some practice. Maybe there will be another fight!
