He's been injured for much of camp. However, he returned for the scrimmage Friday night and practiced Monday. In fact, he was brough in for a zoom call because the reporters there thought he had a good practice. Brian Batko is writing about him this week so look for that on post-gazette.com

It's always about guaranteed money, but the Steelers don't structure their contracts in such a way that the guarantees are really big.

I just think they're hoping he develops into a solid No. 3 this year and then maybe at some point he can serve as a No. 2.

Why would one OLB (Ola) be able/required to play ST and another in the same position (Skipper) not?  Is it a physical limitation, or something else?  I recall Harrison not playing there here, but then did for the pat.

Huh? Harrison made the Steelers roster because he was really good on special teams. That's how he first earned a roster spot. I asked Skipper about it last year. he said he wanted to play special teams, but Danny Smith never asked him. They mustn't think he has the skills to be effective. Maybe they do now, but like i said it's hard to tell who is good on special teams in a camp without preseason games.

Definitely nickel. That will be the defense they are in the most.

Maybe when a new coordinator comes in. There was a fair amount of hype around Todd Haley. But for a position coach? No, I don't remember anything like this.

If the cap is actually lower next year, are you expecting some guys to not get nearly as big of a contract as they think they might?  Could this be a bit of a market reset?

Maybe for a year or two. Unlucky timing for guys whose contracts are up. But eventually, once things get back to normal, we'll see the cap go up by a significant amount every year.
