I just think they have too many other guys they'd like to sign. And if you haven't noticed they've been preparing for his departure. They've drafted RBs the past three years since he arrived in 2017.

Greetings Ray.  Will the extra 2 rosters spots on game day be driven by that week's competition, that week's game plan, injuries, or something else?  I hope that keep this new rule past this season.

Yes obviously they'll look at circumstances each week and make those moves accordingly. The most likely candidates will be guys who bring it on special teams.

Steelers have a good D line but no true NT. Poor depth at ILB. Why not play more 4-3 defense this year?  Play to your strengths.

The six veterans get $12,000 a week. The other gets around $8,000. Don't recall the exact amount.

Hi Ray -  Do you think the Steelers will dress 3 QBs many games this season - with the 3rd QB using one of the 2 extra spots?  Different topic, do you think the punter on the PS is security for a short time until new punter shows that he still has it or do you see Steelers carrying a punter on PS all year?

I have to think carrying the extra punter is a short-term thing. I don't get the value in keeping him on the practice squad.

Why was Sean Davis cut? He seemed solid enough when healthy for the $2M bonus level.

Sounded like he just wasn't a good fit for the Washington defense. Sometimes that happens with free agents. Remember Mark Barron? or Donte Moncrief? The Steelers gladly took Davis back. They like his experience in the defense and Tomlin talked today about his contributions on special teams.

I would imagine there will be rust. The question is how quickly can he shake it off. And I as I said earlier, it would be disappointing if they lost this game. Giants are young and very beatable.

Highsmith had a good camp. Still not sure if he'll be the third guy like Chickillo had been the past few years or if they'll use Adeniyi too. But he looks like he's going to be a pretty good player.
