Good morning Ray. With all the doom and gloom; did you see any positive signs in Week 2 that could be building blocks for growth this year?

Jaylen Warren.

I have an amateur eye but have not seen much of Hayward. Are teams scheming him out of plays or is he just not playing up to expectations thus far?

He was more of a factor against the Seahawks than against the Jets. I did not think he played well against the Jets. He did have five tackles and a PBU that led to an INT, which was much more than any other DL did in the game.

I often hear the term "regress" with key young Steelers players.  Borderick Jones, Keanu Benton, and others in recent history.  Is that an issue in other organizations with high draft picks?  Or is that just Tomlin's inability to develop talent?

Every team swings and misses in the draft, but to your point the question the Steelers must answer is whether the mistakes were made in the evaluation or in the development process. Once the GM and scouts make the decision it's up to the coaches.
All right. Have to get to the locker room for some interviews. We'll chat again next Tuesday.
