Good point on the fourth down play. Maybe Ben thought it was a good play, but it was doomed to fail.
Tommy

Was he being "grilled"? It's  his job to answer questions loss or not and you guys basically gave him a pass week 2 after his bevy of sideline gaffes.

He was asked about the timeout before halftime and the fourth down play. We can't make him answer the questions the way you want them answered. What other questions were we supposed to ask after the Bengals game?

Are we sure drafting OL in rounds 1 and 2 wouldn't have been a better idea? Not sure how this line is going to morph itself into giving BR enough time to go through his progressions. I'm literally afraid while watching our offense on the field.

I've defended the Harris and Freiermuth picks because the best offensive linemen were off the board by the time they picked Harris. Even in the second round, Landon Dickerson had that terrible injury history. I was OK with those picks. But maybe they should have done more in free agency. The DeCastro thing sent them for a loop, but everyone got old real fast. And clearly, they weren't prepared.

Head coaches are sometimes let go in the middle of a season, but I can’t recall an offensive coordinator being fired. That isn’t realistic here, is it? Especially with Tomlin being a defensive genius rather than offensive.

I don't think so. The Rooneys don't usually operate that way. A one-and-done is not out of the question though. I've seen high school offenses with better concepts.
Just a fan

Ever think that the Steelers’ reluctance to change head coaches is a detriment? There is something to be said that with long length of service complacency can set in.Think Tomlin is up against that?

I've said that in the past. It happened with Noll and it happened with Cowher. Tomlin is at similar stages in his tenure. It's natural. It doesn't mean he's a bad coach. It's just that sometimes change is needed.

I get it will never happen but is Todd Haley still coaching.  If not...
Ray Fittipaldo

Pretty sure he's got a gig on Sirius XM

Which will happen first, Tomlin benching Ben or changing Offensive Coordinators
Ray Fittipaldo

Good question. What about an "injury" to Ben?
Jeff

Thanks for the chats Ray.  I thought the OL was supposed to be able to run block?  Does anyone even look average?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:56
At this juncture, no.
Tommy

The offensive concepts are the same as they've been going back to Haley... only the names have changed. Check downs and heave n hopes and worse totally predictable most of the time.

They also miss Antonio Brown. They were better when they were dysfunctional.

A lot of criticism here of players and coaches, but at end of day isn't the front office to blame for not getting better OL players on the team in the off season? BR is still serviceable with a decent OL. Agree or disagree?

I do think Ben would be better with a good line. That was the plan. It has not come to fruition. I just wrote about the line not being addressed in the draft. I understand what they were thinking. But they have to have a different approach next spring. Invest in the line in the early rounds and invest in free agency. It's looking like they'll have a high enough pick to get an impact offensive lineman.

I live in NJ and have been a lifelong steelers fan watching this offense is like watching the Jets It is embarrassing

What about the Bears? They had 1 passing yard against the Browns. I can't believe I am writing this, but IT COULD BE WORSE!

OK that's it for this week. Let's do it again next week.
