Yes, but Tomlin is on record saying he does not like to blitz veteran QBs. He said it after the Colts game and I assume it's the same for a guy like Dak Prescott.

I noticed a few WRs around the league had messages on their eye black Sunday (none quite as  colorful as Pickens).  Is that within the bounds of the NFL's very tight uniform policies?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
Not unless the NFL has changed its policies. I remember Cam Heyward getting fined for having a positive message about cancer on his eye black.

Would you rank contributing factors to the Steelers woeful offense?  Coaching/scheme/play calling, talent, QB play (feel free to insert other factors).
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
Tomlin's conservative style, injuries up front, QB talent and WR talent would be my top three.
Henry Hill
2:32
What do you think is causing the epidemic of bad-attitude WRs during Tomlin's era?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
That he allows it.

Was the 3rd and 8 call the most living in your fears call you've ever seen out HCMT?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:33
Hey, I can tell you Shampklin once converted a third-and-8 pitch in the Yale Bowl before 4,000 fans!

"Ade and Eko." Is that Coach T's version of "Beavis & Butthead?"
Ray Fittipaldo

Uhhhh hehehehe

Ray, Jets fire Saleh (who is 2-3) this morning. Do you think Art II is seeing and listening???
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
No

Ray, what do about slot corner?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
What about it? Cam Sutton comes back in November. Other than that they just have to hope Bishop plays better.

Hey Ray!  Thank you for your chats.  Last week, I read articles calling for Fields to be announced as QB1.  This week, I'm reading calls for Wilson.  Honestly, I'm not sure either will solve our offensive woes.  What do you think will solve our offensive struggles?  Is it a QB issue?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
In the sense they don't have a franchise type of a guy? Yes. But only a handful of teams believe they have that guy. The Steelers are one of many teams trying to compete without a top-flight QB.

What do you believe is the real reason WRGP saw so few reps on the field this past weekend?  Do you think there's some disciplinary actions taking place?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
He quits on his team and has a terrible attitude, if I had to guess.

I see other teams kick off to the goal line, or slightly deeper and almost routinely stop the return, prior to the 30 yd line...often times short of the 20.  Of course the Steelers try this once and Dallas returns it to 40.  However, why not work on a high kick to 2 yards deep?  With great coverage, you gain a field position advantage, plus you open the play up to a possible turnover.  The 30 yard line is a great starting spot.  You can play openly from there.  Why not
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
I agree with you. I'd like to see the Steelers try it. But many of their best special teams players are injured so they might be a big part of the equation.

Will Mike Tomlin's defense be Gardner Minshewed up and spit out on Sunday?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
Minshew did it to them when he was with the Colts last season.

Hi Ray. I go all the way back to the 70s Steelers. I know during the 80s there was some bad football but I didn't pay much attention. I also know that bad football lead to Chuck's "retirement." Belicheck "left" the Patriots after things got really stale. Tomlin's Steelers have been mediocre since the end of the Killer Bs and it appears his philosophy on winning football games is well, stale. Is it time for Rooney to follow Kraft and do a reset? It just appears Tomlin is only concerned about winning 1 more game than he loses.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
If he was concerned he wouldn't have signed Tomlin to an extension in July.

2:39
When are we going to learn not to draft wideouts with issues? How can Tomlin let his Pickens jogging on routes, not blocking on plays stand? Has to be unacceptable in the locker room, no?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:40
I'm sure it is. Did you see Pat Freiermuth's interview after the game?

I know all teams are dealing with injuries but this is getting beyond bad. Who will start now opposite TJ?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
Jeremiah Moon should make his second NFL start. He made one start for the Ravens last season.

If Russell Wilson is fully healthy, do you think he'll start this week?  My guess is no.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
No, but if he does not have a setback I expect him to be the backup.
Jason
2:41
Hi Ray, will the Saleh firing have any effect on the Jets’ supposed interest in trading for Adams?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:42
I think it makes it more likely. It's clear Rodgers is in charge.

Any ideas if the Steelers think enough of qb Allen to keep him as a backup in the event Fields or Russ Wilson aren’t with the team next year?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:42
I think that would be logical for them to do.
Rebecca
2:44
At his press conference today, did I hear Tomlin say Payton Wilson did not have the speed to play outside?  I thought speed was one his biggest assets.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:44
He simply said Payton Wilson will not play OLB. I don't think he's big or strong enough.
SW Steel
2:45
Mr. Fittipaldo, what would you have expected the Steelers record to be at this point in the season?  Are they where you expected them to be, better, worse?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:46
I thought they needed to be 6-2 at the midway point to have a legitimate shot at the playoffs so they need to get back on track.
Ray-Ray Ban

I see a lot of blame being heaped on Fields for his play. Some deservedly so. But the shot to Heyward, if you're going to be a receiver, even a tight end, in the NFL, you've got to come up  with catches you lay out for, right?
