Whelp...after that performance by Sims, is Gunner a goner when Austin comes off IR?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
That's a possibility.
Yates
2:28
Ray/. Leal went to IR but what do we know about his injury?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Only that it's a knee injury.

Tomlin is one of the longest tenured coaches in the NFL.What is his coaching tree? Personally, I don't think he has one. Reid and Belechick do. Does that reflect on Tomlin or his assistants?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:33
I don't think it reflects well on Tomlin.

Is Brady ageing out of the game? I think they lost because of his poor play, no?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
My friends in New England and Tampa seem to think this is something he goes through every year. They think he'll play better and the Bucs will make the playoffs. And they probably will because that division isn't great.

With Watt having had knee surgery are we looking at another month before he returns?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
No. Unless he has another setback of some sort he'll be good to go after the off week.

2:36
Should the defense sack Tua gently or go after him full tilt? I'm waiting on a d-lineman to pick up a QB and hand him to the referees.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
If he plays they have to treat him like any other QB. It's a brutal sport. It's Tua's decision whether to return to play. They can't be worried about his health.

Do you think Trubisky played better because he was not handcuffed by not being petrified to turn the ball over, since he has nothing to lose?  I feel like both quarterbacks up until late in the last game have been playing scared, and not to lose instead of playing football.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
I think there's something to be said for that.

Even though Tomlin made it clear that Pickett will play Sunday if he is cleared, I'm guessing those reports filter through the head coach so the coach could say he's not cleared which seems to be a smart move if you want to protect your franchise QB. Could Tomlin sit Pickett even if he is cleared?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
He could, but I'm sure that would get out. And then Tomlin would be caught in a lie. I'm sure he doesn't lose sleep over his fibs to the media, but why do something like that?

Explain this to me, Ray.  If Dotson is struggling and Green is not a viable replacement, why on earth is he still on the 53 man roster?  Center experiment failed. Is he around because of his draft position last year?  Are they afraid he would be plucked off their practice squad?  Inactive every game so far.  Can you offer any insight?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
I don't think they want to give up on a third-round pick after a 1/2 years.
2:40
1 1/2

Ray, after 2 years of not being able to stop the run, do think its time to draft a nose tackle? The pundits have said you can't spend a high draft pick/money on a 2 down player. Yet the Stiller draft punters and 2 QBs in the same draft. Make sense to you?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
Well, Tyson Alualu won't be around next year so they'll have to address the position in some form whether it's in the draft or through free agency. Montravius Adams would be the only nose tackle on the roster, and he's not a typical run-stopping stout nose.

Does a player in concussion protocol practice at all?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:42
Yes they tend to come back in stages, limited at first before full, etc. Maybe even some light running that won't even be mentioned on the injury report.

During today's press conference, Tomlin twice proactively referenced Ryan Clark.  Nobody else in the press room even eluded to Clark's comments.  Clearly, Ryan must have hit a sore spot with Mike.  Sometimes the truth hurts.  Why do you think Tomlin acted that way?  Ego?  Pride?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:44
i think it was more of a preemptive shot toward the questioner who brought up Clark's words last week. If it was meant to deter Brooke Pryor it did not. She asked about the locker room blowup between 18 and 10.

Do you think Kenny can be a A level QB?  Most national talking heads say good but won’t be top level.  Matt Ryan type which is not bad.  Thank you.

Too early to tell. It's basically been two games.

What certain dregs said to Kevin Dotson online was & is just plain wrong... rotten. However, in regard to Dotson's claim that other than the obvious handful of bad plays, 3 FSs, the Pickett sack/Concuss.... he "played a good game... Do you agree? I thought, for the most part, he did. Maybe not run blocking?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:46
I haven't focused in on him in the Bucs game to that degree. I think overall, through six games, he's a better run blocker than pass blocker, but I think I knew that coming into the season.

Did you see Monday night football last night? Is it possible that there are worse offensive coordinators out there than Canada?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:48
The Broncos offense just looks lost. And they have talent. Not sure what's wrong with the Chargers, but at least they're 4-2 in spite of their offensive performance.

Do you think Nagee's slow start is due to gaining weight, no Big Ben or his injured foot ?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:49
My educated guess: his injured foot and a lack of chemistry/symmetry with his offensive line.
2:50
OK that's it for today. Thanks for all the great questions. We'll do it again next week.
