I think Minkah retires a Steeler. I, also, think he would have never came to the Steelers as an Unrestricted FA. So, my question: how high of a pick would we have to miss out on to sour the trade? (Let's assume he keeps playing well. Too many variables.)

I think there would be some just criticism if it's a top 5 pick. If your scouting department is good a top 5 pick should be a slam dunk contributor from Day 1 and a future Pro Bowler. Now Minkah could be that. And the Steelers have years of control. But that's my thoughts on the subject.
