Yes on the record not so much on how they got there. I never would have guessed they'd have lost to the Bears and Jaguars.

who wouldve ever thought that Ben would be the weak point on this team this year?
Im thinking that he's gonna put it together soon and the team will peak at the perfect time as the season heads to the playoffs.....thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:58
That would be the ideal scenario. But time is ticking. Eight games is a fairly large sample size.

Hi Ray, This defense could be better, if we get better pass rush from OLB's,  most of the pressure we are getting from middle, isnt it?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:59
On Sunday that was the case. Heyward, Hargrave and Alualu were outstanding. But the OLBs had been productive in other games. Watt and Dupree have seven sacks combined and Chickillo has three. That's 10 sacks right there from your top 3 OLBs.

Ray, Bryant is under contract for next season, due to the suspension last year. Are you saying you think the Steelers will release or trade him prior to next season?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:00
Things could change, but as it stands right now, I don't think he'll be on the 53-man roster next season.

Hey Ray, Steelers did enough to win but what happened to the #1 pass defense? Great red zone defense but gave up insane yardage. Don't think we can count on stopping Brady and company in the red zone like we did with the Lions.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:00
No.
3:01
Not always. In nickel, the nose is off the field so it could be two OLBs and two DEs rushing. In base, yes you are correct.

Why can't fans realize that running a 3-4 D means that EVERY PLAY (absent a blitz), an OLB is dropping into coverage.  By design, and by necessity.

Ray, who are your Offensive & Defensive MVPs at the midway point? Plus, a positive and negative surprise player.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:02
We discussed this on the car ride home today. I chose Le'Veon Bell and Cam Heyward. But it's hard to argue if you chose Antonio Brown and Ryan Shazier. The positive player would have to be JuJu and the negative player would have to be Martavis Bryant.

Thanks for the Chat, Ray.  I am thrilled with where the Steelers record is and trying to just enjoy it, but am I the only one who shuttered a little at what Tom Brady may do to this defense after watching Stafford last night?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:02
550 yards and five touchdown passes. Pats win, 56-20.

Seems as though it would be in Steelers best interest to get Bryant some routes where he can be targeted...build his confidence a bit.  They may need him down the road...where it be injury or game circumstance?

When Mitchell went down earlier in the year we saw mostly Wilcox, but last night Golden mostly played over Wilcox. Any reason for this, what could've changed if both were primarily special teams?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:04
Probably as simple as Golden practicing better than Wilcox in recent weeks.

It seems strange to me that the Steelers didn't at least try James Harrison on at least a few plays to see if he could get pressure when Watt and Dupree weren't.  Do you agree?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:05
Yes. I'd have played him a few snaps to see what he could do.

Ray the Steelers are 6-2 , can’t complain about record but Ben is definitely still off his game.  How does he miss Heyward Bay in endzone?  That has happened multiple times this year on deep ball, when you gave a guy that open you don’t have to lead him and make a picture perfect pass just throw it to him make him stop and catch it simple as that even Don Harrod and John Lynn know that
Ray Fittipaldo
3:06
Hi Chris from Grandin. Miss those days of carefree pickup football games at Jay Neff. Ah, the memories.

If Sutton is activated, who do you think gets cut?  Brian Allen?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:07
Allen is the logical choice. When he's been active he's only payed on special teams.

What’s the status on Chris Hubbard? Gilbert? Harrison, I didn’t see him play much? And the rest of the injury report?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:08
We might have an update later in the week on those guys. I didn't get the sense that any of them were serious injuries after the game.

Do you think the Steelers will go undefeated in their division this season?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:09
Seems like a decent bet they will. They already won in Baltimore. Id' say the game in Cincinnati might be the biggest challenge. Maybe the Ravens at home provided they're healthy. But yes, 6-0 is a strong possibility.

What on earth do the steelers need to do on OFF to improve their RED ZONE possessions?   If even one of those FGs was a TD, they'd have won easily
Ray Fittipaldo
3:10
Don't drop passes in the end zone. Don't overthrow wide open receivers in the end zone.

3:10
why did they give up so many passing yards? busted coverages?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:11
There were a few busted coverages. But some of the time Stafford was doing a nice job of beating their coverage with great throws.

The secondary looked awful in mid field, but really good in red zone coverage. Is secondary still a weak link for this team? I feel it’s heading in the right direction, but I just don’t buy into the fact that we have an elite defense right now.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:12
It was the strong link before the Lions game. I think they're much improved back there, but they'll be judged on how they perform against the Patriots.
3:13
I'll go with 6-2 for a final 12-4 record. Only two of the final eight opponents currently have winning records.

Hey Ray,  1st timer here.  Thanks for what you're doing.  This team has me puzzled, ups and downs constantly.  They say it looks like a schedule in our favor after the BYE.  I'm not sure though.  Bottom feeder's are always our killer's and it seem's a lot of time's the coaches don't have the team prepared.   Just giving a fast glance, what do see the teams record in remaining 8 games ?  Thanks.

Does anyone other than me question Ben's health? He just looks uncomfortable. He forces many throws and doesn't appear to be going through his progressions. Additionally, he appears to throw off balance. What's going on?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:14
Ben said he felt great last week when he was asked during an interview. He hasn't appeared on the injury report. I honestly don't know of even one minor injury that's been bothering him.
