Will James Conner split time with Bell when he returns
Ray Fittipaldo
12:23
Let's see if Le'Veon Bell shows up first. I've been very consistent in my assessment of the RB situation over the first five weeks. The problem with the run game hasn't been because James Conner is the RB. It was in the lack of a commitment to the run game. When they are committed to the run game they can be successful.

Please tell me Tomlin and Co. are not going to turn everything back over to Vince Williams when he comes back.  Fort was a huge improvement yesterday.  Looks like he's significantly quicker.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:24
Fort is significantly quicker. It will be interesting to see what happens if he continues to play well.

As bad as the Tie with the brownies seemed in week 1 at least we did not lose to them in overtime like the ravens did... Right?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:24
Right, even though the Steelers tried to hand them the game. The Browns refused to take it.

What are the chances Joe Haden follows the opponents number 1 receiver moving forward?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:25
It's a no-brainer if he continues to play the way he did Sunday.

Do you think next week's game is a do or die scenario for the Steelers?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:25
Not do or die but extremely important if they want to win the division.

12:25
Ar the coaches finally getting something out of Big Dan?  He looks to be moving people this season when they play him.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:26
Big Dan and Hargrave almost split the nose tackle reps Sunday. Hargrave had 17 and Big Dan 12. They obviously like what he's doing.

When is Ola off the IR?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:27
I think he can begin to practice with the team this week or next. After he steps onto the practice field the Steelers have 21 days to evaluate him and decide if they want to move him back to the 53-man roster.

I hope JuJu has his head on a swivel crossing the middle this week....
Ray Fittipaldo
12:28
That would be sound advice. I'd give Vontaze Burfict the same advice.

Very little from Switzer yesterday.  Any reason why?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:28
Just not part of the game plan like he was in previous weeks. I wouldn't read too much into it.

12:29
do you feel better or the same after yesterday, about this team?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:29
A little better I suppose. That Falcons defense was hurting due to the injuries. The Steelers should have scored 41, maybe more. The reason I feel a little better is the defensive performance. They came to play.

The penalty on Watt for hitting Ryan's leg with his arm as he passed by was ridiculous. Are the Refs trying to make these games unwatchable? The NFL needs to get a handle on some these calls, and quickly.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:30
I agree with you, but don't hold your breath. This is the NFL we're talking about.

Hello. I love your chats. My question is considering how good the LB group looked with the addition of Fort, whats the harm in trying Fort, along with Matthew Thomas going forward ? I know the other people are good enough for run defense, but Fort and Thomas can provide, as close to a side line to side line pass coverage, as we can expect this year . Thank you again.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:31
Maybe you'll see that in the future. Let's wait and see how Williams heals and whether Fort continues to play this week. It was a good performance, but it was only one game.

Has Vontize Burfict done any illegal hits yet this season it seems like it always happens against us?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:31
He's only been back for one game. Give him time.
Mr CJ Jr
12:31
As much as I'm done with Bell and his antics, I have to admit that the Steelers could still use him this season. Even with the emergence of the running game (Conner), I think the combination would be a match-up nightmare for opposing defenses. Basically a two-headed monster. Am I crazy for thinking of the possibility?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:32
It would be a good backfield, but there's only one ball and you wouldn't be able to play them together all that often, if at all.

Is T.J. Watt going to be a feast or famine player? He was invisible in three games and great in two games. He had an undisclosed injury in training camp. Could that be affecting him at all?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:33
It wasn't undisclosed. It was a hamstring injury. He does have to show more consistency, but he does have six sacks in five games. I think the Steelers will take that. His pressure on Ryan yesterday was one of the biggest reasons the Steelers were able to win going away.

12:34
How much is it limiting the offense for Ben to have to target AB thus keeping him happy?
There have to be some really open guys elsewhere if AB is double/triple covered but I cannot see him being happy as a decoy.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:35
It's a double-edged sword. It worked yesterday even though Roethlisberger's INT was into double or triple coverage. Roethlisberger rationalized that he was giving his best WR a chance to go make a play. That's true in a sense. The best player needs touches.
Ryno
12:35
Why is Dupree getting pushed on so many two mile arcs out around the quarterback?  A mobile QB could kill us with that happening all the time.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:36
I did see a few very wide rushes Sunday. I'm sure he is told that can't happen against running QBs. It didn't make much of a difference with Ryan because he's not very mobile.
The Ville
12:37
Loved what I saw of Joe Haden yesterday. Why doesn't he shadow the other teams best WR more?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:37
All depends on the matchups, but I would suspect he would draw the assignment again this week versus A.J. Green.
scott in dallas
12:37
Could AB be traded this offseason?
High performer but high contract, high maintenance, migraine inducing prima donna...
Ray Fittipaldo
12:38
This is your questions after he scores twice and has 101 receiving yards.
Wingo
12:39
What is the chance that the defense is a top 15 defense after yesterday’s showing against one of the more potent offense?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:40
Still a long way to go before they get to a top 15 defense.
