They're 3-6. They're not terrible. They've won against the Ravens and Bills, two teams that are currently in the playoffs. They'll be at home. They have tons of talent. I know they have problems, but this will be a tough game.

Let me try this on you: in my neighborhood, I sign Dupre now that he's becoming an impact player and not mess with the defense. I would then draft a tight end who can catch and run and a running back who can carry the ball 100 times like Tomlin wants. Now, do you stop in my neighborhood for a brewsky or keep driving?

The Steelers don't negotiate contracts during the season. Company policy. I like your line of thinking. In a perfect world they'd be able to keep Dupree and address those other needs. But you can only pay so many players. You have to pay JuJu, Watt, Minkah. Not sure if there's enough $ to take care of Bud, too.

What's your predicted result 10-6?

I'll say 9-7.

Ben benefited from having a great defense his first yr as a starter. Why is the expectation so much higher for Mason?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:54
Different expectations. He has no running game. Ben had the No. 1 running game in the NFL. It makes a huge difference. I'm not saying Mason is as talented as Ben. But things might be different if they even had the slightest threat of a running game.

Ray, if you had to attribute the accolades to one player for effectively shutting down Cooper Kupp, who would it be? Thanks

Mike Hilton was on him quite a bit, but they doubled him a lot. It wasn't all Hilton.

Could McDonald go to FB?  I saw at least one play were he did it Sunday.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
He could, but he's also their No. 1 TE.

Special teams coverage has been very good this season. Who do you single out?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
Johny Holton has been good. The kickoff unit has been pretty good overall, but they gave up a 35-yard return when the game was on the line against the Rams. That wasn't good.

Was that really McDonald I saw taking a rush on a 2nd and long play?  Why?!?!?!?!
Ray Fittipaldo
12:57
I have no idea. That was bizarre.

didn't the steelers resign the lb/fb, why not put him on the 53 and nix on IR?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:57
They can still do that tomorrow.
12:58
OK that's all the time we have for this week. I have to go watch some practice and see who might play Thursday night. We'll do another chat next Tuesday.
