I'd be all for more of Conner.

ON the injuries, prior to the game, have we seen any team and any year go into week 10/game 9 with all 22 starters starting the game?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
Not sure on that but the good fortune didn't last long did it? Haden went out in the first first quarter.
Steeler Nation - one 'S'
2:27
The 2pt. conversion, fiasco sequence.. moot point because they finally converted it or a glaring indictment of a coaching staff problem?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
I tend to lean toward glaring indictment of coaching staff and players. Not all on staff. Players have to know the plays. But the biggest issue for me is if players don't know plays then don't play them. You have to have a feel for your players and their mental acuity.

Another question on streaks: the next four games are night games.   Assuming nothing gets flexed, have we seen any team in recent memory have four straight night games?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
I'm sure it's happened before. For the Steelers, it might be good news because they seem to play better in primetime.

To me it looks like Bell is playing up to his comments " I should have played lacrosse"..I think it is time for Conner to see more reps.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
Agreed. But I'm not totally down on Bell. I just think Conner's ability to gain the edge is not something Bell can do at the moment. Looks like he's lost a step.

After William Gay's game yesterday, Sutton could be at least better than him, right?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
Probably but I don't think they'll pull the trigger on that right away. But maybe before the end of the regular season and the playoffs. That would be a good thing. I can't stomach another game where Brady eviscerates Gay in front of 20 million viewers.

There had to be 25-30 yards of field position loss due to Brown letting punts go. Is he under orders to let the ball go or fair catch? They get nothing from their return game on kicks either. It's like Tomlin regards it as an afterthought.

Who was Todd Haley yelling the expletive at yesterday and why?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
First timeline answer: The special teams have to improve. They're not good enough. You see how important they are when you watch New England play. They take time to practice it and put good players on those teams.
As for Haley, he was yelling at Ben, who pretty much confirmed that on his radio show today.

Hi Ray,glad that we won. However,we have many glaring problems that surface every week, despite our record. We always have breakdowns in our coverage, inability to score on a more consistent note. After seeing Todd use profanity against Big Ben on one of the plays ,I am wondering if they both truly don't like one another, which would reflect on the inconsistent play calling.Tired of the media covering up every week for Haley. Its either a top defense or now off because of bye week.Do you think that Big Ben and Haley are truly at odds?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
I don't think everything is rosy at the moment. Something is not right with the QB and obviously the offense. Everything seems a bit off.
Chuck D
2:37
Any internal pressure on Todd Haley?  Offense clearly underperforming and a lot of it is scheme.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
I'm sure there is a lot pressure. His unit has underperformed. He knows it too. I think that's why you see the frustration coming out on the sidelines, etc.
Nate
2:38
Man, did Shazier make the play of the game!  That guy is a special player.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
Seems like when they need a big play he's always there. Except for the end of the Lions game when he dropped the INT.

I thought the early interception on the pass to Bryant was actually Ben's fault not Bryants. The ball was badly underthrown and the defender had inside position, a recipe for an interception, but i would like your opinion.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:40
It wasn't close enough for Bryant to make a play on it. Don't know for sure if Bryant ran the route with precision. Whatever the case, Ben's deep throws have not been productive this season.

Let's set Ben aside for a second: Why isn't the running game better?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
I'm sure it's a combination of things, but I'd start with giving Conner a few more carries.

I just saw this morning that only five teams in the NFL have failed to score 30 points or more this season. Yes, the Steelers are one of those teams. So are the Browns. Given all the offensive weapons the Steelers have, shouldn't that worry the coaching staff?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:42
Yes. I think that's why no one nationally is taking the Steelers as a serious contender to the Patriots. It's plain to see. They're struggling to find a rhythm.

Big concerns and an ugly pattern happening with all the big pass plays against a now banged up secondary. A sign of major issues ahead w Haden out until probably postseason and Mitchell's injury problems and Brady & Co. only 4 weeks away from coming to town for what should be the game to decide who ultimately hosts the AFC Title game?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:44
They better worry about beating the Titans Thursday night. The way they are playing they can't overlook any team much less a 6-3 teams that also has won four in a row.
Joe Uppet St. Clair
2:44
Glad that Keith Butler made defenisive adjustments and pressured Brisset.   Not sure why the game plan was to sit back (like Detroit) but glad he figured it out in the second half.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:46
I think they have this grandiose vision of their four-man rush getting home and dropping seven into coverage every snap. But I don't think the outside pressure is good enough to do that right now. TJ Watt hasn't done much in recent weeks and Bud Dupree is not a picture of consistency either.
Edward
2:47
What are their plans with James Harrison?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:47
I don't know that they have any at this point.
Frank
2:47
There are reasons for concern, but we are 7-2. The sky is not falling. Were fans this upset during the 2008 run?
2:48
2008 "bad games"
10-6 W over the 4-12 Browns
6-15 L to 9-6-1 Eagles
26-21 W over 5-11 JAX with winning TD coming in last 2 minutes
11-10 W over 8-8 Chargers
20-13 W over 9-7 Cowboys, didn't take the lead till Townsend got a pick 6 in last 2 minutes
Ray Fittipaldo
2:49
Frank, of course no one will be upset if this team does what the 2008 team did. But this team right now doesn't appear capable of that. I get your point, but at some point the offense has to snap out of it.

In your opinion, was Mike Mitchell responsible for both of the LONG TD passes, yesterday?  Looked like that to me and the guys I watched the game with.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:51
I think it was Burns on the first one and then Mitchell contributed to the second one by not being able to tackle the guy at the 20.
Lloyd's Three Count

Do Yinzers realize the other team gets paid? Like, they're real players who are trying to put food on their tables. Seems like 90% of us live in Fantasyland where Steelers should go undefeated every year and win the SB 400-0.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:51
You mean like the Patriots seem to do.
