What are your thoughts on Connor Heyward continuing to get snaps on offense?  I see a lot of penalties, missed blocks, etc.

I'm a bit mystified by it. The penalties have been happening all season, and he's not a factor in the passing game. I think there's too much of MyCole Pruitt too. Get your best players on the field more so you can threaten people in the passing game. And if you want to load up to run better just play an extra offensive lineman. I mean, there are situations where H-backs are useful, but they're a huge part of his personnel packages and game plans. I don't get it.

3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 (or less) are really hard to pick up for the Steelers compared to other teams. Why not bring in Fields for a sneak and put a backup lineman in the backfield to help push him across for a yard? Maybe the coaching staff is reluctant to put Fields under center due to the fumbles on exchanges earlier this season?

Cleveland loss makes the Steelers ceiling the fifth seed. Do you think they could fall to a six or seven seed?

Sure they could fall to 6 or 7, but they could also get the 2 or 3. The loss to the Browns pretty much took them out of a legit competition for the 1 seed, which is too bad because they controlled their own fate if they kept on winning.

Ray, as great as Russ is playing I’d still like to see more packages with Fields. I think we could really have a two headed monster at QB if used correctly. I think Fields is gonna have to start hitting on some passes for it to be truly effective. Do you think they should utilize Fields more in this capacity or less?

I don't know about more. It's a game-to-game thing. And I don't have a big issue with it being random. It's a feel thing with Smith, and you have to trust the gut of your play-caller in those situations. The big problem for me was having Fields throw on third-and-4 late in the game.

Rat, thanks for the great articles and your time here. Jones continues to struggle. He shows flashes of his potential to be a good player but his inconsistency is killing them. Can they afford to let him work through these growing pains? Thank you.
