Every ILB has issues. I'd like to see a more downhill mentality from them. Play on the other side of the LOS instead of catching blocks.

The Minkah deal (1st Rd + Claypool bust), The Bush Deal ( Moving up but not far enough for the 'right Devin), Letting the wrong players leave, Taking a QB that no one else wanted in 2022 when a better crop ( and higher pick)is there in 2023 & you had 2 QB starters on the roster already, Stale coching philosophy... Trending down or am I just wallowing in my disappointments in this team?

I don't have an issue with the Fitzpatrick contract and you might be praising this year's crop of QBs prematurely. But you make some good points too.

Hi Ray, thanks for the time and the chats. There are so many issues with this team, it's difficult/impossible to fix all of them.  That said, there's a very fine line between winning and losing in this league.  As bad as Sunday was, they still win the game if the field goal isn't blocked. Is it too optimistic to think a couple hits at the right positions in next years draft, decent FA signings for depth and a new OC put them back in contention?

Ray - would you agree it's well past time they invest a high level draft pick (1-3) on a solid NG. Stop the run and get to the passer has been a highly productive formula for them and covers up some of their secondary issues.

They definitely need an impact defender in their front. Doesn't necessarily have to be a nose, but some new blood in the DL is needed.

When will all Quarterbacks get the benefit of the doubt with roughing calls and not just the stars? The Hit on Picket was pretty obvious to me (force was very unnecessary) - and if you don't want to say that it was roughing - the facemask was also pretty obvious.  These plays need to be reviewable.

Tomlin said he did not have an issue with Smith's tackle. I think roughing was not called because Pickett was a runner by virtue of his escaping Queen in the pocket.

My personal opinion is that there's no way Matt Canada should keep his job after this year. He has been so bad over the last year and a half, and a couple decent performances against bad teams should NOT allow him to keep his job. Go out and hire a big boy coordinator with real NFL experience for Pickett. Your thoughts?

I was. We used to watch the first half and then go to the park and play football during the second half. Not much reason to watch many of those teams.

From an evaluation standpoint, Green. I mean, he basically admitted to us this summer he didn't like playing center. How could that not be discovered in the predrft process. From a team-building standpoint, obviously Bush because that decision has set the team back.
