Ray, it's hard to root for my beloved Steelers to lose out and draft higher (and hopefully better).  Do you think it makes a difference long-term?  Or should I cheer them on to sneak into the playoffs and prepare to be annihilated in the first game?

If they lose two and finish at 7-9-1 they could draft in the top 15. Maybe even top 12. That's better than 24.

Edmunds has played north of 95% of snaps since being drafted. Splash guy? No, but he's still a step up from guys like Will Allen, Sean Davis and Mike Mitchell.

Would it hurt to at least make an offer to Mike Munchak to return as offensive line coach? If we offered him "the moon" he just might come. What a start that would be in rebuilding the offensive line!

Can the Steelers put Harvin on the IR with a phantom injury? I think it would be nice to keep Waitman in the fold and have them both compete next year

He's a Hall of Fame player and a former head coach in the league. It's not about $$$ with him. He made the move for family reasons. And as long as he is employed by the Broncos I don't think it's an option.

Answering the Harvin question... if they want, they can just deactivate Harvin and let Waitman punt the final few games.

Whisenhunt sounds like a great idea.  Is it true that Tomlin is making the defensive calls during games?  If so, what would be the reasoning to replace Butler...just to have a sacrificial lamb?

Absolutely did not say that. I've said on here plenty of times in recent weeks if Picket is available when the Steelers draft they should strongly consider him. He solves the mobility problem. I just don't know if they view him as a first-round talent.

No that team had Eli Manning in his prime, a pretty good running game and a defense that played much better in the postseason. The Steelers don't have any of those things.
