I'm with you on Weddle. That's a bad one that really hurt this team because they signed Green instead. I'm not convinced Hightower would have been a good signing. He's been injury prone since then.

Is there a rift in the locker room with AB and others.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:52
I think that's a fair assessment. Not sure if anyone other than Brown is a big problem though.

Watching the Browns and Ravens yesterday, I get the feeling that the Steelers will be on the outside looking in for quite some time in that division. Any hope we win the North in the next 3 years?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
It's certainly going to be tougher, but let's hold off on the Super Bowl parades for the Browns and Ravens please.

Will the following playrs return to the Steelers next season?  Yes, no or release and resign for less money are fine answers.  Dupree, Boswell, Burnett, Bostic, Roger's, Burns, Foster, Berry, DHB.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
Of that group I think Foster and DHB are the only one who is gone for sure. Some others you mentioned are possibilities

With Gilbert & Foster perhaps gone they may need to draft Offensive lineman first ….Thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:57
Not first. Finney or Feiler can replace Foster and Chucks might be ready to play right tackle. But they'll need to replenish the depth to replace those guys. So maybe a middle- to late-round pick or a high priority undrafted free agent to develop much in the same way they developed Finney and Feiler.

Why are the Steelers so bad at assessing secondary talent when Tomlin was a secondary coach?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:58
Good question. It has to get better,

Ray in your opinion what receivers are worth keeping?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:59
JuJu for sure. And you have to keep James Washington and hope he develops. Ben likes Eli. Switzer showed some promise.

Does Kevin Colbert get a pass on all these problems facing this team?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:59
No, nor should be. He's drafted some good players, but he's missed on too many first-rounders.

Ray Id not pay Ben 25M a year for next 2-3 yrs, they have proved that with him they are still a slightly above average team, play Mason, take $$$ and draft or trade for Defense...a bit of a rebuild but same old and getting $$ tied up in same old is bad business.

Not sure he'd settle for $25 million a year, but I wouldn't pay him $30 million a year. Might be somewhere in the middle.

Ok sorry I didn't get to all of your questions. The Steelers have an open locker room in a few minutes. I'll do another chat next Monday. Happy New Year.
