They certainly have to do a better job against Fournette in the rematch. Even a guy like Bortles can have success if he's constantly in third-and-2 or third-and-3 situations. He's an NFL quarterback. They have to stop Fournette and get Bortles into third-and-long situations. That's when they can get a pass rush on him and force some errant throws and mistakes.

If Tim Tebow was able to beat the Steelers in the playoffs and pass for more than 300 YDS, why couldn't Bortles do the same?
Ray Fittipaldo

Good point. It can happen. Keith Butler can't repeat the mistakes of Dick LeBeau in that game.

Ray are you a closet jags fan ? sorry you are totally overrating them. Steelers had a bad game and ben was playing horrible at beginning of year......
Ray Fittipaldo
2:19
Did you ever stop to think he might have been horrible because the Jaguars made him look that way. They have the No. 1 pass defense in the NFL. They're not a fluke. They're a very good defensive team that can win without much of an offense.

I don't know Ray, I remember the Steelers getting whipped against Miami last year and Jay Ajayi running wild.... and then in the post season it was 21-0 because you could blink an eye.... I think you're giving ter Jags way more credit that they deserve.

This Jacksonville team is much better than that Miami team. That Dolphins team had so many injuries by the time the playoffs came around. They were playing with a backup QB and their backup safeties. The Steelers took advantage as they should have. This is a Jaguars team that comes in relatively healthy and full of confidence after winning here a few months ago. I don't think it's anything like last year.

Ray, who do you think we’ll see on Sunday, the Ben that was “off” the first half of the season, or the one that was throwing darts to the receivers fingertips the second half?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:21
Probbaly somewhere in between. He's not going to throw for 400 yards against this defense. He's just not. That's not what you want to do against a team that defends the pass so well. They have to run effectively and throw it well when they have to.

I'm a little confused about all the concern over containing Bortles. He's not exactly Michael Vick in his prime. Seemed like the majority of his rushing yards yesterday were the result of breakdowns by the Bills defense rather than designed runs or roll outs giving him the option to tuck it and go. Doesn't seem like 'containing Bortles' should be a top priority over shutting down Fournette and getting solid coverage from the secondary

In case you haven't noticed the Steelers didn;t exactly do a great job against DeShone Kizer. I think there is legitimate concern about his scrambling ability. He'll throw caution to the wind and do whatever it takes to win. It's different from a regular season game. The Jaguars coaches don;t care if he gets hurt now. All they care about is moving onto the next round. And if Bortles can run for a few first downs Sunday they'll have a much better chance of doing that. The Steelers have to be disciplined in their rush lanes and keep him in the pocket.

I disagree with your assessment of Lebeau's defense vs. brady.  The defense took it to brady in Roethlisberger's rookie year in the regular season matchup.  They blitzed and blitzed and blitzed some more and pressured brady who does not like to get hit.  That is the secret and I hope Lebeau does it to brady again this Saturday night.  Just my humble opinion.

I saw a stat today that Brady has 19 TDs and 3 INTS vs. Dick Leabeau coached defenses.

Ray did the Chiefs choke or did Tennessee steal one?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:24
Chiefs choked. But they always do that in the playoffs.

Jax was playing 2 deep almost all day Sunday, doesn't that open up the box to run?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:25
I think they're willing to give up some runs. They defend the pass so well that they're OK with being in third-and-short situations.

What is the weather forecast. Won’t that be a factor for both teams( especially Jags)
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
Last I saw 22 and cloudy. Shouldn't really be a big deal for either team. The Jaguars are a southern team that's built for northern football.

Heavier dose of Bell to keep the Jags offense off the field?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
I think they should try that, but it's easier said than done. I do think Bell has to hit the holes quicker in this game. Can't dance around against this athletic defensive line. They'll make plays in the backfield. Take what's there, get positive yardage.

I thought, and the announcers mentioned, that Fournette looked like he was "worn out' when he ran; and he didn't gain many yards rushing. Also was mentioned that Fournette told reporters that the NFL season had worn him down. If the Steelers can't stop him, they don't deserve to win.
Ray Fittipaldo

They're playing for a chance to play for the AFC championship. If he can't get up for this game then there is something wrong with him. Shame on the Jaguars if they don't know how to get him physiclaly and mentally prepared to play a football game.

i think jacksonville has a weakness in that defense andwe must get the running game going because jacksonvilee bites ont he play action pass do you agree?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
They're very aggressive in all facets of their defense. I think their CBs might be susceptible to double moves, too. But when you take those shots you have to make sure your receivers are open. They're ball hawks and they'll catch the ball and bring it the other way in a hurry.

Who's the key to the Steelers scoring in the red zone? McDonald? James? Bell?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
I'll say Bell, but I think McDonald can have a big game, too.
Thanks for all the questions this week. We'll do it again next Monday.
