If they do let him walk Sony Michel is a good option. I really like him.

Once we finally rid ourselves of Mitchell, is there a physical strong safety we could draft if we move Davis to free? Perhaps Allen or someone else who can tackle?
Ray Fittipaldo

There are some good safeties in the draft. Not sure how deep this class is but there will be guys who are drafted in the first and second round. And yes, tackling would be a nice asset the next starter has.

Who will be the biggest threat to the Steelers in the AFC next season? Jags or Pats
Ray Fittipaldo
1:01
Both. The Steelers were 0-3 against them.

Would you rather have a 13-3 regular season and continue to lose in the post season or be 9-7 and get to a superbowl?  We seem to drop the ball in the post season.
Ray Fittipaldo

That's a no-brainer. Go to the Super Bowl every time...

Do you think Ramon Foster is good enough/young enough to warrant an extension with one year remaining on his contract?
Ray Fittipaldo

He's 32 or 33. Probably time to look for a new starter after this season.

In the playoff game against the Jags at the beginning of the 4th quarter the Steelers partially blocked and got the ball at the Jags 48 with a touchdown needed to tie the game. Bell got 3 straight carries and couldn't get a 1st down this forcing the the failed pass to JuJu on 4th down. Is that really the play of a difference making, game changing, $15 million dollar running back?  I guess I am being sarcastic but geez ... with the game on the line Bell came up pretty small. Agree? Or is there more to the story?
Ray Fittipaldo

Don't disagree with you. With Bell and that line they should be able to get a yard on fourth down. Or the first three downs for that matter. It's something Randy Fichtner has to fix this offseason. Art II wants a better red-zone offense and better situational football from his offense.

Rooney and Colbert both were not shy recently about need to improve after 13-3 season. Is this putting some pressure on Tomlin?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:04
It should put pressure on everyone. And that's a good thing. After that flameout in the playoffs the pressure should be ratcheted up for everyone.

Ray- if 50 is not medically cleared to play, is one scenario that he retires and if so does that relieve his salary from Steeler's Cap?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:05
Theoretically yes, but why would he retire before getting his $8.7 million? He is owed that money. He should get it. If there's a way for him to get his money and retire then I'm all for it. I just don't think there is a way for that to happen without that money counting against the cap.

Hi, Ray I think either ESPN or CBS was talking like Steelers would let Haden go because of money or age.  It is out there despite the fact it is a dumb idea.

Well, I haven't seen those stories not heard that from anyone associated with the Steelers. We'll see.
OK that's all the time I have this week. We'll do it again next Monday.
