Golden had been a special teams captain in the past, but he was a captain last season. So maybe we all should have seen this coming. Apparently he fell out of favor, so perhaps simply he lost a step.

Ray Signing Bostic does not stop them from taking a guy like Evans or Van Esch in round one? but I think they go safety and maybe add a guy like Warner from BYU in round 2

That's a possibility, but Bostic just might be a depth player for them. It's not like they had a lot behind Williams and Matakevich.

Ray, it's kind of crazy to say Steelers haven't had a lot of success with FA signings. What does that mean? Things happen, you have to upgrade holes in FA though. A proven player is a proven player. The "B" players are the question marks. Thanks

It's means they are a draft and develop team and don't venture into free agency all that often. And recently, they haven't enjoyed a lot of success when doing so.

Hi Ray, One thing has been bugging me for a while now. I keep reading the the OL is “elite” or terms to that effect. How can it considered so when week after week, for the last few years the offence has been morbid on 3rd and short or goal line situations ?

What about signing the free agent safety from the Chargers, he wouldn’t cost over 3 or 4 million. He seems like he’s hitting his prime.

They'd probably have to restructure a contract to get that done. I think they're right around $4 million under the cap now.

What's the deal with people 'pushing' for the Steelers to draft the Ben replacement? It logistically makes no sense as long as Ben is 'playing'. You'd need to have a season like the Colts in 2011 when Peyton didn't play to get his replacement at this point in time but as it stands that ain't happenin' #letsberealfans #besmart #wereinwinnowmode

Yes, but I think he could be available in the fifth too. It's tough to project someone like Griffin.

Leighton Vander Esch or Rashaan Evans would be solid picks in my opinion. Tremaine Edmunds and Roquan Smith won't be there I don't think.
