I'm not concerned at all with Bell staying away from camp. I'd be concerned if he's not there Sunday morning Sept. 10 in Cleveland.

Every "fan" knows this is a business... Do players like Bell care that they're potentially losing fans with their appearance of chasing the money?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:16
No.

12:16
Do you agree with Ron Cook about time for winning all is this season?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:16
The window is definitely closing though as long as Roethlisberger plays and their key guys are healthy they'll have a shot.

What's Bell's comeback during negotiations when confronted with the fact that he's missed 30% of the games he could have played in?  WE all know how great of a player he is and how impactful, but that means nothing when he's not playing.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:17
The amount of money he'll be able to make once he hits the open market. There is always a team or two willing to overpay for a star player.

I love the game, but the concussion issue is extremely troubling. Is this the beginning of the end for football?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:19
Football has changed for the better in recent years with better education and better tackling techniques. But there is always going to be this question of CTE until it can be diagnosed when someone is alive. To me, football will really be in trouble when there is a reliable test that shows players living with CTE. And it's not just NFL players. That study yesterday showed college players get CTE almost as much.

Is James Connor healthy?  Didn't he tweak something during OTAs?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:19
He had a hamstring injury during the spring. I believe he'll be healthy for camp, but we'll find out for sure tomorrow.

do av and tuitt get new deals now
Ray Fittipaldo
12:20
I think they do. They always like to lock up their top young players.

Who starts st RB if Bell holds out?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:20
Right now, I'd say Knile Davis. But it could be James Conner if he is healthy and has a strong camp.
Raymond
12:20
Was hightower ever going to sign with us
Ray Fittipaldo
12:21
I don't think so.

12:21
Do you think Adams has a chance to make the Team? Did he impress in mini camp? Thanks
Ray Fittipaldo
12:21
Practice squad is a possibility.

What are your realistic expectations for John Connor this season? Does he have a chance to be a legitimate chance to be viable starting running back in the NFL?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:22
If he can outrun the Terminator then yes!
Ike Steelheart
12:22
So after Bell's failed contract negotiations, is there money for AV's and Tuitt's new contracts?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:22
Yes plenty. About $16 million.

Have you ever became friendly with players that you've seen go through their money?  With the amount of money these athletes get (maybe not so much football as much as baseball and basketball), it should be generation-changing wealth.  It's terribly sad to see some people squander it.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:23
Yes. I've even heard of players getting into debt as rookies. A lot of times it's only because of frivolous spending though that is a part of it. A lot of times it's taking care of family members and hangers on.

Does James Conner really have the #1 selling jersey at the moment?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:23
Yes he does.

Looking into the future...Which of the unlucky Steelers coaches will be chosen to tell James Harrison he is cut or no longer needed???
Ray Fittipaldo
12:25
Joey Porter. He is the OLB coach and played with Harrison.

Ray, Maybe Steelers window for winning SB is not closing just yet. They're a relatively young team, and if Ben plays 3 more seasons, they'll have a good shot each one. Remember, over the past three seasons, the team is 11-5 when Bell has NOT played...
Ray Fittipaldo
12:26
I agree. As long as Roethlisberger is the QB they'll have a chance if he's playing well.

What is your #1 concern about the Steelers going into the season?  What is your #1 optimism about the Steelers going into the season?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:26
No. 1 concern: the secondary/pass rush. It has to be better if they want to win the Super Bowl. No. 1 reason for optimism: the return of Martavis Bryant and what it could mean for the offense.

what ever happened to kendrell bell? Why was he off the team in a few year?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:27
His health.

12:27
how do you split playing time with 92 and watt ? 80/20 or more 50/50?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:28
50-50 might be ideal considering you want to keep Harrison healthy for a playoff run. But then again, if Watt is playing lights out then you ride the hot hand. You do the same with Harrison as long as it's late in the season/playoffs.

Favorite Teams of NFL network: Dallas, NE and Baltimore, agree?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:28
I don't watch the NFL Network very much anymore. It kind of bores me.

The NFL mentioned fewer commercial breaks.  But did I hear there will be longer breaks?  If that's true, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?  Games will be just as long and "longer" for the fans in the stadiums waiting out each tv-timeout.
