Will Bell need to stay healthy the entire season including the playoffs and superbowl (if they get that far) in order for the Steelers to offer him the 15 mil a year he wants? Seems like his holdout plan is working so far: the more we see the other RBs on this roster, the more we realize that the Steelers need to pay the man!

Watt was going against one of the Matthews brothers. He's a former first-round pick. Big difference between him and Ereck Flowers. No one on the first-team defense really showed well yesterday.

I'm quite sure it has been discussed, but you have to figure in the cost to acquire such a player. And as I mentioned, it's tough to make a call like that not knowing if that guy is Sutton.

Why have we seen so little of Tucker? Are they trying to hide him and stash him on the practice squad, or are they just done with him?

He was on the P squad last year. Might have a shot again. Or they might be done with him. I'm guessing they'd rather sign Ayers to the P squad is he goes unclaimed if they cut him.

Chickillo surpassed him on the depth chart last season, but I still think Moats will make the 53-man roster.

Ray, Bell has to know that his contract situation for 2017 is set in stone....is he just acting like a kid trying to get the day off from school in avoiding camp? Is he trying to stay healthy and avoid an injury in camp? What gives??

I think he is making a business decision. He doesn't want to get hurt in camp.

Could you see any teams actually giving Bell the kind of money he apparently expects?  He is already going to make about $4M more than the next highest paid RB.

Happy eclipse day, Ray. I know it is preseason but the D looked bad yesterday - Cockerall (SP?) was consistently beat.  Is Hinton an upgrade at this point?

Not outside. He's a slot CB. They need someone taller to play on the outside.

Sutton is on the team if he's healthy. They're not going to cut a third-round pick. Not the case with Golson, who has had injuries in three consecutive years.

Yes and it's possible. Again, some team would have to be pretty desperate to sign a guy who has never played in an NFL game, even a preseason game.

Yes, he wins with tenacity and bull rushes. He does have to develop better pass rush moves. I think they're hoping he develops that in time.

Change it up a bit... What was up with the 3rd down "noise" machine?  Was that supposed to be some kinds of whistle to sound the end of a shift in a steel mill?  That needs to stop.

Everyone knew the secondary was weak last year and yet they only used a 3rd round pick to upgrade. That seems like wishful thinking and poor planning. The patriots offense is better this year. What was their thought process ignoring a vital position like CB early in the draft or upper level free agency?

Ray, who do you think gets that 8th & 9th OL spot? Hawkins hasn't impressed so far and Brian Mihalik appears to be able to play both LT & RT & might be the best athlete on the OL outside of Pouncey. Thoughts?
