Regional Season Q&A II
powered byJotCast

The favorites - Frenzy, Finesse, Lustre have been in the top 10 for a few years and in the last 2 contests have really shined.
Then there's those that can jump into the mix with the right songs and package - Windsor, HEAT, Milli Blink
4:40
Then there are the newcomers and 11-20 group who could certainly make a move.
I think ClassRing is fantastic, but it will take some time to add the needed 350+ points to earn a crown.
4:41
Watch out for GQ. I think they could certainly end up top 6 or so.
Remember, the average time spent in the top-ten for quartets who eventually win crowns is about 3.5 years.

Too many high scores in regional this year will make a very interesting top15 this year. A lot of hard work will need to be given to make the top 15 this year.

We saw some QTs last year post crazy high scores and then drop at intl to the 35th place and below.

Why are you just sweet adelines? Why no BHS?
Benjamin Edwards
4:44
Bryan, a couple reasons - One, I don't know men's barbershop that well. I have no real connection to it. But I have a wife and mother in law who are Sweet Adelines.
Secondly, BHS already does a wonderful job of tracking their stats and their history.

I'd love to add more men's info to the site, but need an accomplice to help me out.

I like to give hope to those quartets that earn a wildcard. Class RIng came in Second behind Legacy at regional but ended up 8th their first time on the big stage while Legacy didn't make the top 15. So you wildcard folks out there don't be scared away.

Very true. 1999 champs Rumors Quartet (Syverson, Gram, Baxter, Esser) never won a regional contest. They were wild cards.
4:47
I wouldn't be surprised to see ClassRing move up in placement.

Who has won the most times?
Benjamin Edwards
4:48
For Chorus, the Melodeers with 7. Followed by Gem City, Rich-Tones, and Scottsdale with 5.
4:49
For quartets, obviously a quartet can only win once, but individual women can win multiple times with different quartets.
4:50
The most is 4 – Connie Noble
4th Edition (1972) – tenor
Savvy (1988) – tenor
High Society (1976) – tenor (replacement)
Fanatix (2001) – tenor

3 – Kim Vaughn (Bone, Christman, Hulbert)
High Society (1976) – lead
Savvy (1988) – lead
a cappella Gold (2000) – lead
Twenty-one women have won two crowns.

I was wondering if there were queens that never won a regional. I thought Class Ring may eventually have that to their credit of accomplishment s.

I'm sure there are more, but Rumors is the first to come to mind.

I can't wait to see who out do who between mother (Heat) and daughter (Class Ring). Last years 7 and 8 place finishers. I going with experience to take the win.

Will definitely be interesting. It's going to be a great international contest this fall for sure.
