Hello everyone! Welcome to our second Reach for Excellence Webchat! University Worries and Choosing Your Degree! This is your chance to ask us any questions you have about choosing your degree or ease any concerns/worries you may have about University in general and anything else you want to know, as well as learning from the answers to other people’s questions too. If the chat is busy then we’ll be typing at breakneck speed to respond to you all, so please be patient if we take a while to get on to your question.

How could we aim to get a scholarship? Would there be a website to read more about it?

Once you've picked a subject, how do you pick what university has the best course of the subject? As in, would looking at the type of modules the universities have will be enough?
AvatarHaaroon

Hi Christen, looking at the course and module content should help you decide which university offers the best course for you. You can also look at league tables that rank universities based on student experience, graduate outcomes etc. You should also consider what university you personally would feel comfortable studying at.

Very well thank you :) I wanted to ask since students who go to all the dentistry events are able to get special consideration at interviews etc after the program if it is still possible for me? I was unable to go to the first dentistry events because it was so full but went to the healthcare one. I want to go to the dentistry one this term too.
AvatarMeghan Clamp

Students have to have a minimum of 60% attendance on the RfE programme overall to be eligible for special consideration for Dentistry - so you still have plenty of time to hit this percentage with the wide range of sessions we'll have on offer over future event blocks :) students also have to meet the courses minimum entry requirements

Apart from the information on the website, will there be events where we can meet teachers and students currently taking oue desired courses and ask them questions?
AvatarHaaroon
4:17
Hi Sajid, on all of our events we have student ambassadors that are current University of Leeds students and you can always ask them anything. We also have Open Days where you can talk to current students who study the courses you're interested in. Open Days will be advertised after Easter
