Do you see Jackie Bradley Jr making the roster out of spring training?
Mark P
5:37
As noted earlier, the Royals have a lot of OF depth already.  Waters' injury obviously thins things out, but I'd still lean against Bradley breaking camp, unless K.C. feels they could use more veteran experience

What is up with Asa Lacy? I know he is no longer a prospect but the Royals literally say nothing about him.
Mark P
5:39
Not sure there's much to really say, other than the team's hope that Lacy can stay healthy and have a full season.
The numbers to date aren't promising, yet it's such a small sample size (80 pro innings) that Lacy is hard to evaluate

As a Royals fan who likes to travel, what are the best NL ballparks/cities to visit for a game? I'm excited to see more interleague play. And which National League Division does KC collect the highest win percentage against?
Mark P
5:41
Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Chicago (Wrigley Field) are must-sees for any baseball fan.  I'm also a fan of the ballparks in Cincinnati, Washington, and Milwaukee.

Since these are almost all of the NL parks I've ever attended, perhaps I'm an easy grader.  The only one I didn't care for was Shea Stadium, but that's no longer an option.

You think I can push AAA this year if I sustain a .400+ OBP?
Mark P
5:43
If Cross keeps hitting like this, a late-season appearance in Triple-A certainly seems very possible.  Again, small sample size alert, but Cross had a great debut in 2022

Likelihood that Pasquantino can have a full season of more walks than K's?
Mark P
5:45
I think only four or five qualified hitters in the entire league had more walks than K's last season.  So while I like Pasquantino's potential, that's a tall order.

Who do you think is the most likely Royal to be traded, if they fall out of contention before the deadline?
Mark P
5:47
Chapman, Garrett, and Keller, as the pending free agents.  Maybe Lyles or Yarbrough, and maybe Greinke but only if he personally okays a deal.

The fact that this is Picollo's first trade deadline as GM creates some uncertainty on this front, since (as mentioned earlier) there could be some younger players that he's less high on than Moore was

Whats the Massey outlook? everyday 2B?
Mark P
5:52
Massey's hitting development in the minors has made "everyday player" a possibility, and getting even a part-time or platoon guy from a fourth-rounder is a solid result for the Royals.
5:53
As noted earlier, the Royals have nothing to lose in giving Massey a big dose of playing time, since they probably know to some extent what they already have in Lopez (his 2021-2022 gap notwithstanding)

Is Mondesi going to make us wish we didn't deal him? So toolsy, but the injuries just piled up and made him unreliable.
Mark P
5:55
Mondesi has certainly shown some flashes of his potential when healthy, and the new pickup rules alone might help him become even more of a terror on the basepaths.
But for KC, at a certain point they just had to move on, with other players demanding playing time in the infield.  The writing seemed to be on the wall even a couple of years ago when Dayton Moore said Mondesi wasn't being viewed in an everyday capacity any longer

Thoughts on Eaton?
Mark P
5:57
One of my favorite Canadian department stores!

As for Nate Eaton, he profiles more as a bench or utility guy to me, with an interesting skillset as an outfielder/third baesman.

Well, you heard it here first, folks.  The Royals will be champs.  What a sports year for Kansas City!
