Drawing on the characteristics of Carnatic music of possessing stable pitch notes, Prof. Murthy plays recordings of various synthesis of the same Carnatic notes using machine-learning pitch extraction tools.

She concludes her talk by reflecting on the process used to examine the audio data. Prof. Murthy explains how some other models were employed to normalize the tonic of the audio data, which in turn, was fed into the deep learning models for pitch separation and raga identification.
